| Quote ="Weav Wire"Hi guys, i am yet to visit your wonderful new stadium, and am coming on the 11th Nov for the international final.
Has your parking problems been addressed yet? If not, any tips on where i can park please?
Many thanks.'"
Parking problems havent been addressed, and its carnage around the car park and on the A57 around the M60 roundabout with 5k on the ground when a fair percentage use the match buses or walk. The RFL are expecting a crowd near to capacity and I would imagine 95% of fans will be driving to the game from outside the local area. If your travelling from Warrington I would recommend the A57 Irlam/Cadishead bypass route. Just after the makro lights there is a lay by, if you get there early enough park in that area for free or just further up use the Airport car park or Eccles ARLFC. If you use the latter (supporting a local amateur club who last season opened their club house and bar) you can use the motorway route. Stay in the left hand lane coming off the motorway and you will avoid some of the match day congestion.
Games been promoted well. I know that rugby union playing schools in South Manchester have been offered free tickets.

| Will Salford RLFC have to suffer the indignity of having thousands of RL fans, and potential new fans of the game turning up to the stadium only to see the club shop is 100% Sale Sharks stuff?

Whilst I agree with your sentiment it's not worth getting het up over to be honest.
I'd be more worried about the amount of familys that get turned away from that crazy stadium company based on the fact they dared to take their offspring in a pushchair to a "family sport".

Club shop for Sunday is 'to the right hand side of the main entrance of the west stand' according to facebook which I'm guessing will be in the fans bar area?
Some decent stuff lined up for Sunday, none of which appears on Salfords website (why am I surprised?):
Get your photo taken with the RL world cup from 3.30pm.
Gaming stations set up outisde the stadium from 3pm giving people the chance to try out the new rugby league live 2 computer game before it goes on sale.
Morley signing his new book in the club shop after the game.
Not many tickets left according to this:
therfl.co.uk/news/article/26581/ ... leased-for
Should be a good day. Good to see international RL creating a bit of interest for a change.

Agree with all that mate. If anyone wants a ticket in the West Stand (good seats too), cheaper than the face value price, drop me a PM.

| I enjoyed that last night, although it wasn't quite the "close to capacity" crowd that was being touted by all concerned.
Still, was good to see a decent crowd on the ground and to be on the "right" end of a rout for a change!

Odd one considering that they only put the North Stand on sale because the south stand had sold out and there were only 50 seating tickets left. It shows that if we can get crowds up to the 7000 mark the ground will look half decent. I've not yet seen a lengthy thread appear about what a nightmare the place was to get in and out of.
I discovered that there are fewer more annoying things in life than a kids rugby team from Wigan whose parents have filled them with energy drinks and pies and then sat there getting leathered while the kids did everything but watch the game.

| Traded in my usual vantage point of the West stand yesterday and watched the first half from the South Stand and snook round to watch the second half from the East stand seats. The ground looked good being so full (in particular the West Stand), and its a real shame that we can't command crowds like that for each home game, as I believe the decent atmosphere that was lacking all last season could be generated with two sets of partisan supporters in.

| I liked the stadium, Like people have said, it looked orite with a lot of people in there. I'f i'm going to be honest parts of the stadium in and around the concourse looked like they had been finished off in a bit of a hurry but it serves it's purpose.
Didn't like the chaos I had to get through to get to the game though, Missed kick off after spending an hour sat on the slip road of the motorway not moving. and getting away from the ground was a total nightmare aswell. something that would possibly put me off returning in the future.
Was sat in the east stand towards the 30/20 metre line and had a good view. Had a massive amount of kids from Huddersfield behind us in the stand shouting and screaming so I'm assuming there must have been free tickets given away to schools or something.

| speaking to someone from the RFL, i was told that the capacity had been capped at 10k for the game and not a full 12k. Also i know the free tickets were floating about in the schools to get more there. So i guess if it was only 10k and people had took tickets for free but not showed up, why it was around the number it was.
What i do find laughable is the fact that i got a load of tickets for my club and we were all to sit together as the tickets were for seats only to arrive and half our seats had already been taken! someone at the stadium screwed up if that can't even be adhered too yet last season i wasn't allowed to go over from the south stand concourse to the west stand to get a drink as the south one has sold out!
clueless!

| I didn't go as I couldn't be d with the hassle of the crowds on crutches but did watch it on telly and have to say the guy playing the last post was the most moving thing I've seen in a long time. Well done to the RFL for really doing it right.

| My first visit to Barton last night. Can't say it thrilled me. It's neat once you get on the concourse and in fairness the views from the west stand seat I had were good.
However having to negotiate muddy waste land in the pitch darkness was disgraceful, god help ranyone who was unstable on their feet and massive improvement is required with that. Having parked on the Unicorn car park I didn't have problems getting away. For such a big stand I was surprised that only 4 turnstiles allowed enterance, this led to the 15min delay, people wiring needed the toilet and were allowed in only to be let out again to rejoin the que instead of just taking the ticket stub of them. Clearly a large crowd presents them with problems. On a whole I much preferd the Willows.

| Went to the match and thought it was like watching paint dry, the highlight was the England mascot taking on the drummer boy in the north stand with his drum and said mascot trying to get a mexican wave going. what the two teams got out of it beggars belief, there again the Sale sharks fan next to us in the south stand seemed to enjoy the bore fest.
I've never left a Salford match before the end but I was on my toes with fifteen to go in this ripping encounter. I suppose it's the same for the Aussies when they play us. Men and boys springs to mind.
Ow yeah and only in rugby league at an England match would you proudly present the Scotland team to an English audience. Well I say team there was a rag tag of NINE yes nine blokes wandering around the pitch they couldn't even raise a squad to walk around, and the only one I reconised was the Sheffield based Aussie Henderson. The RFL strikes again Cringeworthy.
On the one plus note that fella Sinfield can't half kick goals I think they were all from the touchline, no wonder the Sale fan was impressed.

That's a little strange considering last season I found you could walk between stands with impunity.
And as for that mascot with the drum and the Mexican waves, I found it to be a sign of how much the standard of support in modern sport has dropped. Manufactured atmospheres are c[ir[/iap.
