The arrogance of the Leythers staggers me. The club was in a parlous position a couple of years ago and if you check some posts by stalwarts such as `Dick Jones` they were near to relegation to the Oblivion League.

Now I am delighted that Beaumont & Co have put Leigh on a sounder footing but until they have proved their consistency against SL teams for a long period I would suggest they wind their necks in a bit. Pride comes before a fall.

As a Leigh fan, this game will be one to challenge the boys.

Its a great tie, and one both clubs should embrace.

It's big enough, the rivalry.

Big but not in the same United v City way & as a Mancunian & adopted Leyther it is not even on the same register as Leigh v Wigan, or even Widnes, but should be a noisy affair, travel with the City Reds/Devils & experience it for yourself.

This is a good game for both sets of fans, due to the proximity of Salford & Leigh & the shared sense of humour of both sets of fans.

Leigh have a fan base that Salford could only dream of. Hoping you bring 2000 but with your home attendances I reckon you might be lucky to drag 800 > 900 up the road.

Just been on the Leigh board, it was a giggle to say the least. They've gone from saying it'll be an 8000 crowd to now saying be lucky if it gets 5K. The insecurities are coming out now, rolling out every excuse in the book, wait till we knock them out, it'll be we wanting concentrate on getting promotion anyway.

I've got ten of the finest English stirling for anyone who blows up a balloon with Leigh written on it and pops it when they knocked out. I'll double it, if gets seen on SKY.

You may have got a rush to the brain over this future game. We realise it is a major attraction to you and takes up so much of your thoughts.
We'd like to reply but we Salfordians have to concentrate on three games before then.
As they are against a very improved Huddersfield, your big brother Wigan, and a resurgent Leeds, please allow us to ignore this frothing for a while. The Salford team are favourites with media punters and bookies to lose all three. The Salford fans know there are three big games to watch that will show us what level we are at. So we are concerned with the immediate few days.
So, although we are grateful for this degree of respectful admiration from you, please allow us time to focus on the League. The very League you feel you can steamroller with ease. We do not think we can. So back to you after next weekend.

you will be then able to see what you are up against in the Centurions ,I have been in Marwan company on a couple of occassions and respect him a lot ,but you Salford fans will see how a successful club should be run,and after this round Marwan will be getting an itchy Jacksy worrying about HOW to avoid the bottom 4 in SL ,my advice is Que Sera ,Sera.

I'd forgotten why I could never stand Leigh. Now I've remembered. Pity, because the Leythers I know in real life are actually decent people. Pity about the bellends who sit at home mashing the keyboard with their hand.
