To say the last couple of years supporting reds have been a Rollercoaster, and the sickening feeling following the Church Meeting is a mild understatement.

Trying not to clutch at straws is difficult + the thought of being gratefull to Nigel Wood / RFL , and possibly Eamon McManus if this comes off is sticking in the craw.. never a dull moment .

In fact, the constant waiting before Xmas was bad, even though we all knew exactly what was going to happen. The waiting now, after being drip-fed positive news (in itself a novel feeling) is positively sickening. The sooner the deal is Public, the sooner I can sleep properly again. Just like others on here, I feel like something is going to happen to kick us back down after almost getting back up.

I think the deal is almost done, the only thing that they will be meeting about is the stadium rental agreement he'll probably want to make a better deal with that, and to be honest by the sounds of it in his interview he's very confident the deal will be completed in days, to hear that from a news reporter is one thing but to hear it from the man himself makes itbanwhole lot more encouraging.

Christ 10 and then we've already got Dixon and shaken hands with Gleeson that's a lot of new faces. Butcher tempting fate is a load of rubbish. The guy has come out in public saying he wants to take us over and make us successful oh and he says the deal should be done in days? if that's not something to be posotive about what is?

I`m with The Butcher on this Red League. The fat lady is only gargling at the moment - we all want her to sing of course ..................but she aint at the mo. This is Salford and the Doctor will no doubt be dotting every i & crossing every t. I just wonder whether `eccles star` will now be buying a Season Ticket.

Of course I get your points too, the thing that's done it for me is how he's come out in public with his intentions for the club, he's spoke to phil on the phone about the future and Andrew chalmers was at the ground talking about possible signing, this isn't speculation this is FACT!

Now why would you do that? you've gone and ruined the excitement for me it's nearly enough to make me want everything to go Nipples North.

The main reason for everybody to want this more than anything, is not for the good of the Club, or the fans. It's to see what in the world Philyournappy will post about once JW is gone and he can no longer surf the Turkey for his angers...

That post by stuffer a couple of pages ago was one of the best posts I've ever read on here, absolutely captures my expectations, but of course hoping I'm wrong. Secondly just want to say big thanks to Phil Vievers for the way he's handled himself during the whole dismal affair. He's been Tremendous

Ok 3 things, despite expecting it all to go wrong I am starting to get genuinely excited now!

Phil Veivers;- pretty much the unsung hero through all this. how he's managed to hold the squad together and keep things ticking over and upbeat through all of this is beyond my comprehension.

If we do make it to the start of the season unscathed he could be a contender for coach of the season before we've made a tackle.

I think Phil deserves a bit of a break tbh. He's not had the easiest time as a coach after waiting patiently in the wings for so many years. The things he's had to contend with would challenge seasoned coaches to the limit and he's come out of it with much credit. I just hope he gets the chance, along with Sean, to do what they want to do with the players they really want. Could be on the cusp of exciting times...

and Highton ... understood he's been a brick for the players.

and I hope he writes an autoboigraphy some time: the story of the years 2010-13 would be too impossible even for a soap.
