| If they are putting money in our coffers then let them stay. I'd hope to get a bit more of our own stamp on the stadium though.

| Don't see any logic in him wanting rid of Sale as it's good regular income which in the main is during the RL off season.
I'd be interested to know what his thoughts on the mooted 3rd team playing there would be, the only issue I would have with that would be any potential damage caused to the playing surface from over use.

Yes but wouldn't he see a rugby union club as our rivals? Trying to attract their own fans from the area? Man united reserves would pay the same rent and they'd not have any influence on the regular fan deciding whether rugby league or union is the one for them?
Plus would sale now have to pay the full 700000 a year rent like we should of done last year before the ra rar's come aboard.

| I do think that the decision to sell naming rights for the stadium to be controlled by Sale will come very much under the microscope. You'd think with his business contacts and the more media savvy (hopefully) regime in charge that there is a quite large source of income to be made right there for Peel and the club.

| Would welcome the money from Sale as our tenants, however I am always wary of the threat RU can pose and Steve Diamond is not to be trusted.
If they get relegated as seems likely can they afford to pay the rent? Do they still own Edgely Park?
In some ways I'd like to see Swinton move in. I know they don't offer a lot of revenue but I think it is wrong that they play outside the City which they are part of and they have been friends in hard times!!!
It is a real poser on many levels!

| I suppose we will get half the car parking/food and drink sales as well as half of Sale,s rent. A good earner
But what if Sale buy out Peel,s half ?

| Sale have a lease for goodness sake, you can't just 'get rid of them'.
Some of you would do better to support your own Club, rather than being obcessed with Sale.
Their supporters have actually been very supportive of the new owners.Frankly, their message board is a good more intelligent than your own one.

| Maybe Dr Koukash has a masterplan. Sale allegedly millions in the red get relegated and lose further millions in TV revenue. Sale go bust he buys them from the receiver and changes the name to Salford Reds RU and invests in a team to get them back in the Aviva.

I see very little negativity on this thread with regards Sale. It's just a discussion. Pettiness such as this does not lend a great deal of credence to your previous argument.

It's been reported in a few places that he's bought the city's share of the stadium. I guess today's press conference will tell us whether it's true or not.

Yes, but probably in the opposite way to which you're suggesting.
As mentioned above, there's no negativity towards Sale on this thread. It's a discussion. Will we, or will we not, continue to see Sale as tenants? What are the positives and negatives of having them at the stadium as apposed to other potential tenants or, indeed, just having it to ourselves? How will this impact on Sale as a club and how will they view it?
That is hardly a bear-pit of anti-Sale outpouring. It is inevitable that there will be a pro-Salford slant to these discussions as, believe it or not, this is a Salford supporters' forum. You've already missed the point on another thread by accusing us of slagging our new owner off, when no one has done such a thing.
If you feel this forum is lacking in intelligence or friendliness, then you can make a concious decision not to come here and read the various threads. However, if you feel the need to stick your oar in then don't complain when you are challenged.

| Whether Sale are a threat to Salford or not is pretty irrelevant. If they are a threat, then moving them out of the stadium will not stop them being competition for Salford, if they are not a threat then it will reduce any benefits of fan cross over to Salford.
In the end, it's money in the bank, which is not to be sniffed at in this day and age. The good Dr. may have enough money to bankroll Salford, but any good business man needs to make money where they find it.
1/2 the rent to Salford, 1/2 drinks sales to Salford, 1/2 burger sales to Salford, etc etc etc.
Better to have the money than not.

Ginge my old mate, we ain't chatted for ages as i have been very busy ensuring lots of peoples tax returns are with that nasty institution HMRC but as I have now completed my task I couldn't help but notice you was being a tad unfair on the this chap.
Whilst I agree that this is a Salford forum designed for those fans, it is also a public one and in fairness open to anyone to comment. Now just because it goes against the grain you can't be telling people to saty off it, that's just plain not fair.
For the time being Sale will, as with Salford continue to be tennants in that stadium, the good Dr didn't quite get all his own way this time.
Anyway good luck to your team.

| Why boot Sale out whilst they continue to subsidise our stadium?
The good news is that now we do actually join the place we can tart it up and make it look like our own. We'll also never see a repeat of last year's Leigh Sports Village debacle.

Agree with the first bit and the second providing we do get some ground ownership. Not sure about the last though - if we have agreed the dates we and sale play are agreed and we have a last minute change for the tv (or other reason) I would think we would still have to honour that agreement

Ah, hello, I thought it had been a while since I'd heard from you.
This may be an open forum, but it is primarily for Salford fans' discussions and opinions, so you'll forgive me for not being too concerned with what outsiders think. Particularly when they've completely misinterpreted our opinions, seemingly to suit their own agenda and opinions.
Anyhoo, I guess we won't be getting rid of you anytime soon, neither. I noticed your anti-council post on the official Salford Reds website's coverage of the press conference, so no doubt you'll continue to linger on here commenting on Salford RLFC. I do wonder sometimes if you put as much effort into supporting Swinton.
And please drop the "my old mate" nonsense. It doesn't work, especially when I've seen you posting less than kind things about me on people's Facebook statuses. I mean Jesus, how sad are you to be doing that?

Can you please not quote him, the only exception must be when your informing people of his much anticipated demise.
Does make you wonder what motivates people too put more effort into belittling and deriding other clubs than they do being supportive of their own.
Envy?
Little Man syndrome?
Or the bookies favorite mental issues?
I'm sure we all thank Swinton for the generosity they showed in our hour of need it is just a shame that the clubs name as a whole is made a laughing stock by one particularly moronic fan.

Sorry, keep forgetting!
It's crazy as the Swinton fans I know are about as far from being bitter as they could be. To the point of even coming to watch Salford when they're not playing. Quite why some feel the need to be so obsessed with us in such an unhealthy way is beyond me.

Aww Ginge get over yourself, a little bit of banter doesn't hurt anyone unless of course your Michigan and then he just spits his dummy all over the place, have you seen his block list.
Now did I not close my last post wishing your club well, does that sound like someone who just wants to have a go.?? As for not being nice to your lot I have given my services free of charge to Forever Reds last year and if they require them again will do so again.
Thing I like about you Ginge is that you do like to resopnd in whatever form it may be unlike , again soft lad Michigan.
No doubt things will look up now for your team and it will not worry me in the slightest and again i reiterate good luck to them. I'd much sooner see a Lancashire side win the top honours than any team from Yorkshire.
