| Is this a sign McRae is trying to get his own staff around him?
Naylor went once before (around the time Harrison was sacked)
Thanks for all he has done and await a new appointment with interest

As I understand it Scott Naylor was brought back to the Willows by Karl Harrison to do a job as a player and help out with the coaching side of things.
Just before Karl left the club he either sacked Scott Naylor or Scott left of his own accord and when Karl finally left the club Scott was brought back into his previous position.
Scott deserves a vote of thanks for all the hours that he has put in over the years and hopefully he has something else lined up.

He came back as a coach only and didn't play! He retired playing for Bradford in 2003.

2004 Superleague 1X
Scott Naylor Played 8 matches in total( 7 in Superleague + 1 other)
Scott resigned for Salford City Reds 10 November 2003 and he had retired at Bradford but was asked to help us out.

| If only he would have passed the ball in the semi instead of trying to run through the full back, one of my memories of Scott, but good luck in your next venture.

TBF Sovatuba was a poor defender and Naylor was next to impossible to stop from that distance. I doubt Sovatuba ever made a tackle of that quality after that match.

| Not the way I saw it on either of your accounts, he only had to fall over the line and it was a try, cost us a trip to Wembley but a nice bloke all the same.

| Best of luck Scott in whatever venture you decide to take next.
Bobby Goulding as Assistant anyone? IMO he allways speaks very highly of our club and i think he will add massive amounts of spark, flare and aggresion into the side. He is what we need marching up and down the touch line. Similar mould to Jimmy Lowes.

| No to Bobby Goulding, the last thing we need at the present time is an ego the size of Goulding.
We need a creative coach to work with McRae.

| We need someone who can motivate the players, Scott may be a decent coach, but I dont think he ever looks to be motivating the players whilst on the park, stalking the touchline & barking orders & that is what players need when out there. Last time I recall him doing that was at Leeds this season & we beat them, so Scott, its up to you this evening

| I think the club should be looking to groom an assistant coach with a view to taking the reigns when McRae leaves in 2 years time. ( I would be very surprised if Shaun McRae is offered a new contract)

Haven't there been some "off field issues" at Halifax though?

Take it you've not seen Fax recently then?!
I'd take Rhino no probs, but not sure he'd want to play second fiddle to McRae?
Wouldn't have a major problem with Alker but can't see it happening.
Robbie has enrolled at Uni this week AFAIK and is committed to Leigh next year, despite their relegation.
Farewell, thanks and best wishes to Scotty Naylor - always rated him as a player and a bloke, sad to see him go.

| SSN says Scott Naylor won't be retained on the coaching staff by Salford. After having the misfortune to sit near SN at Orrell and the JJB I found him the most unprofessional and embarassing person to be connected with a Super League Club others on this board will know what I mean.
Bye Bye Scott you won't be missed.....
