Ratchford for me no contest.

I`d say Stefan has earned his spot and has taken his chance well , competition for places should deem Mr Smith looking for another position in the team.

The pairing of Stefan Ratchford and Richard needs to be kept together for as long as possible...

Mr Smith needs to prove his fitness in the reserves before being consider for the first team again.

I was very impressed with Ratchford today, thought he was very busy and productive...alot of what was good about you today came through him. Looks like a real prospect.

We must keep the winning team together at all costs. Earlier this season we were all despondent over a team with no grit, determination or cohesion. At the moment we have that and it's our half back pairing which are helping provide the platform behind this. IMO Ratchford offers us more options than Smith in both attack and even more in defence. It'll be a travesty if he's removed to make way for Smith. If McRae does bring Smith back in it just shows we have another spineless coach who panders to his "big" signings needs by picking name over form. Which would be in no way acceptable.

I believe that Smith is better than we have seen so far and at times has looked very good BUT Rathchford has played very well each time he has played and he and Myler look the business to me so no real contest - Stefan every time.

Whatever Bomber decides to do will be based on his view of whats best for the team.nothing else!!

Having said all that,I would go with Ratchford but try to find a spot on the bench for Smith,although that will be difficult.

It would provide Insurance .

I think Smith is steadily growing, but has to earn his spot. Ratchford at the moment is playing excellent and so should keep his place. It's all about consistency, if players perform to their ability they keep the shirt, simple as.

Hopefully we will see the best of both of them on the run-in to seasons end.

At this moment in time id have to say Rachford, his kicking game is superb and physically he is tacking better, BUT we certainly miss Smiths organisational skills at times and that bit of brain.

Got a feeling its going to have to be eater or because Robbie is our "Utility back" substitute and who ever kicks his heals in the reserves wont dislodge him from his role in the team.

Many people on here have said in the past put Ratchford in his best position and see what he can do, including myself.
He has a better kicking game than Smith, tackles better and FWIW links up better with Myler.
Then again I am not the coach and I fully expect him to be put back out on the wing in the not to distant future

please to see the lad given is chance at is natural position after me calling for him 2 be playing at 6 from the start of the season.didnt want 2 say it but i told u so.

I can fully understand head coach McRae wanting to have Smith in the starting 13 each week but it's clear to see Smith can only play at 6 or 7

So it would not suprise me one bit if Stefan Ratchford could find himself playing at full-back in the odd game this season.

In Stefan Ratchford we have the kind of player who can if need be play in every back position but of course I would rather see him playing at stand-off for the rest of the season along with Myler, but that's up to our coach to sort out and not me.

The main thing is in my opinion is to get these two very good future prospects signed up on long term contracts just like the Leeds Rhinos did with there half-backs on 5 year deals a while back.

Ratchford by far, I don't see how Mcrae can have a selection headache over it. Its not as if its a difficult decision is it?? Ratchford has been playing well the team on the whole have been playing well Ratchfords been MOM in the last two super league games. Why even think about changing it??
