Deserved it. Completely reckless action. Certainly not the first time he has done something without considering the danger to the other player. Same as the Widnes game when the player made a break and pulled his ham string making him fall to the floor in which Chase just dived on him.

I think I'll retire from the brains trust that is social media and these forums for the evening. Between the righteous fans, the stick-the-boot-in fans, the embarrassing own fans, the fans who know it all, and the fans of Bantz. I'm very quickly tired of this subject already.

From the video footage I have seen, he can have few complaints with his ban. Stupid play that has no place in a tough game, that is just a cheap shot.

When Rangi was a Cas player he attacked the head of a Featherstone player with the purpose of doing him serious harm and succeeded.

He got off very lightly then. This was similar in that again his purpose was to inflict serious harm on his opponent and again he succeeded.

This time the punishment is more appropriate although even a 7 game ban is better than what his victims have to suffer.

Doesn't matter who it was, no player should be put in that dangerous position. It shows a total lack of respect for each other, and he deserves that ban.

People want a brand new style of punishment for Rangi. Ban him for as long as Ferres is out for? Would be a interesting if it was a legal method of punishment in any sport in the world.

I will be interested to see the punishment for the next tackle of this nature and the consistency of the RFL.

as Daz says any player who does that should be out for as long as the injured player is.

if one of our players did that i would happily accept that if the injured player is out for 4 months then so should the attacker!

The maximum ban was 8 games. He got 7. The method of punishment that you want doesn't exist for crying out loud!

For what it's worth I don't think Rangi and Salford can have any complaints. I don't know if it was intentional or not but cannonball tackles have no place in the game. I just hope the rfl are consistent in their punishment as the season goes on.

I have no problem with the ban given to Rangi. I was not there and only seen it on TV. I feel he has been banned for the injury to Ferres. Are all tackles similar to Rangi's going to be punished or just the ones that injure a player? If the answer is all then there will be lots of players banned after viewing the TV matches last weekend. Something for the RFL to consider.
