Hope a few people use it and will hopefully see a decent crowd.

Don`t get that paper delivered,and i live in Salford precinct area,but i will throw my hands up and say ,at last something positive and the managment is trying to promote ,good on em,taken long enough. Good luck to the fans and players tomorrow,forward the Devils in Red.

Good move by the club and even better to do it at the time when we're playing top rugby and look like a confident side, hope we get a big crowd for this. With it being on a Friday Leeds won't bring as many as they would if it was a Sunday but the way that there performing I can see a decent turn out from Leeds. If we do well tomorrow it could be a big crowd and a top atmosphere with hopefully a good display making some of the new fans want to start coming. This could be the start of bigger crowds!

should stick the same advert in the Manchester Evening News and any local papers for Trafford/Stretford/etc.

Since the publications have moved to Oldham the Stretford & Urmston Advertiser gives coverage of Salford. Usually get 2/3rds of a page in the sports section but no ticket offer. All reds can do there bit by making friends/work mates who live outside the city aware of the offer.

I live 5mins from the Willows & have not had the Advertiser delivered for over 2 years now, friends that still got it delivered used to pass it on to me but have also had it stopped over the last 6 mths.
I am now lucky if some friends pass 1 onto me by Tues of the next week. The newsagent at the bottom of the road stocks them but they are 30p each & I notice that they usually don't manage to sell them so most of them are sent back so although some people in the local area are still getting them delivered it doesnt help Salford City Reds very much.
I have contacted the Advertiser in the past but they just say TOUGH but firms who pay to advertise should get onto them as they are now not getting full coverage for their money.

The Advertiser do say they deliver to 89,000 homes when selling adverts, so that I suspect is now a blatant lie, i would suggest about 20,000 at most judging by people comments, they still do deliver in Wardley and Boothstown.

For those who don't get the advertiser delivered anymore you can always get hold of a copy at some newsagents and petrol stations in the Salford area, but of course you have got to pay for it!

A few (not all) of the libraries in Salford have the Advertiser delivered and you can get a copy for free. I'd ring up the library before visiting to save yourself a trip. I know that Irlam definitely have copies delivered each week as a few people in the area don't get the Advertiser delivered so they get their copies from the library instead.

I read on the Facebook page that the RFL were assisting in the marketing/advertising of this game.
I have not heard/seen/learned anything further.
Does anyone have any information ?

Ive spoken to five people in the last few days, all Salford residents and all follow the club. Not one of them was aware of the ticket offer for Friday. It would appear to me that the Advertiser doesnt provide the local coverage it once did.

You are right that they are deserving of a good turn out. Lets hope theres plenty of noise like the London game too.

Picked up tickets today using this promotion, 2 adults and 2 seniors for £35 - Bargain for any fan of sport in general, even if it was just to say you have seen the Grand Final Winners.

Leeds were sent 1500 tickets and asked for a further 500. Salford have sold 2000 ( not including season tickets).

I would say that there were around 50 of the Advertiser coupons in the box where they were being stored. Wonder how much is cost for the full page in the Advertiser?

so rock radio was giving away free tickets for the hull and london game and now 2for1 for leeds and there going to be plenty more to come as the season goes on...

should never of bought a season ticket at this rate, seems to be the more expensive option!!!!!!!!

i bet city fans are saying the same with cheap tickets for some of their games, you buy a season ticket for the convenience of getting into the ground but more so to show your support for the club by putting your money in upfront.

I'm a Leeds fan. Earlier today, I bought 2 tickets from the Leeds ticket office. Cost me £40 and that was for the North Stand. Its depressing to read that people can get 4 tickets for cheaper and maybe in the West or East Stands that offer a view with a better perspective.

I suppose if the promotion gets more kids into the game, its a good thing though.

Interestingly, I looked on your club website for tickets in the West Stand. It looks like the only two seats next to each other are in row A. In some parts of the West Stand you couldn't get 2 seats together.

... you clearly dont have a clue bwt football.... city reduce they price for cup games but never give away free tickets..... and that is the same for most clubs..

and you get a season ticket for the convenience of getting in ground that the biggest load of bulls@it i have ever heard cos even if you dont av a season ticket you will clearly always get into the ground...

all fool you if your happy paying £250 for something you could get for virtually nothing the fact is i go with about 8 of us and if they dint get all these free tickets they would pay anyway and im sure theres a lot more of these people out there who would pay but they dont cos they keep getting free tickets...

also when people sign up to rock radio they also sign they full house hold up so a house hold of 4 people will get four free tickets they use one of them.. then contact the club and say they carnt make the game so can they change one of there other ticket for the following game....

and they done this the same last year so if it didnt work last season why is it going to work this season? the system is getting abused FACT!!!!!!!

when we played hull and they brought 1500 to the game we was stuck in car park after game for an hour... god knows how long people will be stuck in there for on friday... parking on brookehouse is the way forward

Salfordtillipay, no I haven't a clue about football, only had a season ticket at OT for the past 4 years previous to that League match ticket book holder, but you clearly don't read newspapers, because the City v Fulham game on the same day we played Castleford was not a cup game but a game in something called the premiership (whatever that is?) and the tickets were reduced to £20, sorry to let the truth get in the way of the tales that come from the richest club in Eastlands.
But back to Salford yes I have a season ticket because it means that I can always gain entry and don't have to find £20 especially if its the day Friday before a payday on Monday, and I don't have to queue at the ticket office to buy a ticket and then queue again for entrance.

Now c'mon Walshie you know we had more than 5,000 in the two stands including the taxi load from London. Cos out of the three attendances we were given obviously the 5K plus one was right.
