What sort of gate are the Reds Expecting?
How well has the game been advertised locally?
Are the local people aware of when the game is being played, the KO time and Admission prices?

Marketing at our club has always been poor,needs a shot in the arm,if we cant do it now at this new venue,it will never happen.

Expecting around 5,000 for the first game.

We often seem to be affected by being on Sky (both on and off the field).

I think a start would be advertising the match on a giant advertising board visible for the M60. I'm sure I read somewhere that it's the third busiest stretch of motorway in the UK. When I drove over the motorway bridge at the weekend I noticed the stadium management company were advertising the stadium (Web address I think) with a huge banner on the rear of one of the stands. Therefore there is no reason it can't be done if the club have the funds to do it.

No, nobody knows its on. I live 10 minutes walk away from Barton and when I go out for a drink I constantly have people asking when the first game is because they've not seen anything. The interest is there just by the amount of enquires I've had in my local. If it wasn't for me I really don't think anyone would have any idea at all. P*ss poor by the club, they should have been peppering Peel Green, Barton, Winton, Eccles, Trafford etc straight after Christmas because even if they do start something in the next couple of weeks I fear it will be too late.

I'll go for 7,250 at the first game including 1,500 from Cas.

This is what Salford has to say about advertising the game when asked on facebook;

Salford City Reds Rugby League Club Hi Darren, everyone living in and around the stadium (including Peel Green) will be receiving a direct mail from the club advertising the first game closer to the date. We also have adverts on Real XS every single day, as well as on Real No...rthwest and Salford City Radio. We'll also have coverage (not paid advertising) in the M.E.N. and Salford Advertiser. On top of that we will be using email, SMS, Facebook and the Reds website. And we are on the front page of Ticketline.co.uk and feature on their mailing list which goes out to hundreds of thousands of people. We have also teamed up with MediaCityCard and CityCard for offers to their thousands of members. Plus other stuff...

Well its just over 2 weeks until the season starts and the local people don't have clue it's on. I mean how close to the date do they need to leave it?

You'd think that a bit of warning would make a big difference. What's the point in saturating the area a week before the game. A week doesn't give much time to get finances in order to go unless the club are going to give out free tickets to the local community for the first game.

Well if they're dishing out leaflets to attract new support in these areas they definately should offer some kind of promotional deal because the 20 quid admission fee is a tad high especially for people and families in low income areas. Iv'e always thought the admission prices in rugby league is too high especially the lowersuper league outfits.

Real XS web site is still trying to encourage new supporters to to try out the Shed or view the game from a seat in the North Stand .

Its only a thought,but is there a chance that anyone could design a poster or some kind of advert that we could all copy and paste onto an e-mail and send to our friends e.t.c I know a few people who aren't aware of the match and who have shown a bit of interest in Rugby when I talk to them about it. So if we all sent a few out we could kinda help the clubs ourselves by doing some marketing.
Does anybody else have any ideas as to how we could all help increase awareness of the club and up coming fixtures. Lets take the issue into our own hands!!

What is everyone's problem the fixture list was printed in both the MEN and the Advertiser so everybody should know.

Excellent design and a very clever slogan.

The only thing I would add is a little more selling emphasis on the new stadium facilities. Perhaps a cut out of the player layered on top of an exterior image of the main stand (faded).

Right so why don't we all copy it onto an e-mail and send it to a few of our friends or people we know that might be interested, even if we only get a couple of people its still worthwhile!!

Ok tweaked and added some alternatives , take the one that least offends and mail to your friends or post on ' social networking' type sites.

Good stuff. Good to see the fans doing something to help promote the club. Hope a few people will help to spread the word and send them on to friends and family etc.

Its a must we put in a performance,i know of 4 ex regulars who are going to make a day of it,so we have got to try and entice these sort of fans back,we just cannot afford to put on a show like we did against that Catalans.I myself after 50yrs off watching have decided to give it one more year along with the gang i go with.I have not bought a season ticket because of work commitments,but i should get to most games,all i ask for is 100% do or die,win or lose,just play for pride in that shirt and badge,i`m sure if we do the fans will come back.

I have over 600 contacts on my email I have started sending the posters a - z so by sunday all will have been contacted.

I'm really pleased that Reds fans are are doing there bit to promote the club. I really want the club to thrive on and off the field. Keep up the good work Reds fans and keep promoting your club anyway that you think is positive for the club, and will get a increase in gates at the same time.
