| With yet another player being sold by Wakefield can we read into this that they are the unlucky team who will miss out on a franchise? sad if so as always like Wakefield.
If the fire sale continues a bid for Korki would be a good move for me and we could do worse than to try and get Kear as always thought he is a good coach.

No, what we can read into this is that the administrators are doing their job; namely to reduce overheads, liquidise any assets that are saleable & to ensure the creditors of the company have a chance of seeing back at least some of the money owed to them whilst ensuring that the business is an ongoing concern to attract new ownership.
As regards a bid for Korki, much as I loved his spirit & enthusiasm in 2007, I'm not sure that a forward who concedes too many penalties & has a tendency to drop a lot of ball is an area that we're particularly lacking in1

Think one with a bit of aggression and who isn't addicted to pies would help, Korki for me is the type of character we have been lacking in the forwards the past couple of years where on paper we seem to be more than capable we lack someone of character who can fire him team mates as much as the fans.
Think Korki and Cashmere would be an pair of props and can you imagine how you'd feel if your watching Korki subbed only to see someone of Feka's size replacing him (OK that's very much dependant that we give him space to run and a good dietician).

Played like it mattered to him... He may not have been the best we've ever had but he put his all into what he had... that's all I ask of anybody who wears the red of Salford.... Give it your all.

| I dont expect us to beat Saints on Friday. But I feel if we dont beat Wakefield with the way that club are in total disarray, then it really is the last straw for S.M.

| I think JW has put his hand in his pocket enough.
Its now up to the staff to perform.
Staggered that anybody should think Korkidas is the future.
As for Kear, there is something about his track record that concerns me.Just can't put my finger on it.

| Nothing in Kears history suggests he couldn't do us justice. he took over the coaching reigns at Sheffield Eagles in 1997, taking them to the Premiership semi-final in that year. A year later he led Sheffield Eagles to a remarkable Challenge Cup final victory over Wigan Warriors, a triumph believed by many to be the greatest shock in Challenge Cup history I'm sure you'll agree.
Unless it was the fact he worked hand in hand at Hull with McRae as No2 then was promoted after McRae was given the boot !!!
He then steered Wakey out of relegation winning 4 of there last 6 games dooming cas to NL1 in 2006
He currently has 49% win ratio at wakey:
2006– Wakefield Trinity: Pld 103 won 49 D1 lost 53 48%

| Its not good to see clubs that have been round along time going in to administration. the pressures of the needs in the franchise can not help. clubs are being fourced into new stadiums and other services when clubs donthave the fans to make the gap up. Before long there will be fewer clubs and a game that aint as strong. it needs to be sorted or we wont have a game to support. I hope that the rugby league look at this matter and sort franchise system out.

No, I actually wouldn't. Our victory over Wigan which ended a 43 game Challenge Cup winning streak against a Wigan side still ragarded as the dominant force in the game, brimming with all it's stars from the mid-nineties with no suggestion of this ever changing was surely the biggest shock in RL history. I mean, we weren't even in the same division! AND, we completey smashed them that day having two tries disallowed on the way to a 26-16 victory.
It was said by many that this event stimulated the demise of Wigan as the top team in the game, a position they may have only just regained.
Granted, Sheffield's win was pretty good.

Mind you, it's The Sun, so there's probably only a 50% chance of it being true.

| I don't wish to be naive but what has been Wakefield’s downfall? I know they've been bailed out previously but is there plight now down to trying desperately to get a new stadium? I would imagine that a lot of time and pennies has been spent on trying to get that up and running. Or is it simply down to paying too much wages? I don't know they have any in particular stand out players that would be on a fortune. Without being a stato I would presume they've constantly had better attendances than us and finishing higher in the league ladder than ourselves, what’s keeping us afloat, one would presume Mr Wilkinson or maybe the money from Myler and maybe Turner (not sure if he was sold or contract expired). In that case I fear the day our chairman steps down.

Basically Wakefield took out a loan a few years ago of £1m against a future land sale to Sainsbury's. The land was owned by the chairman Ted Richardson but when the land was eventually purchased it only sold for about £80,000. The land deal must have been kind of index linked and when land prices dropped due to the recession it left a huge shortfall. There is currently a legal battle between Ted Richardson and his solicitors on the grounds of wrongful advice.

| Wakefield have been over the salary cap as well, and their crowds were only slightly better than ours, perhaps they did too many promotions to get people in which didn't pay off, or their sponsorship may not be as great as ours.

The business of Ted Richardsons personal strife with Sainsburys does not involve the club.
The ground was sold to an Isle of Man based company called Trillion in 2007.(they told us fans last year!!) The price being £2.8 million. Trillion paid around £1 million to Wakefield of which most went in paying the bank overdraft off, we're told. To fund the purchase Trillion borrowed around £2 million from the Bank of Ireland. Before the balance could be paid (end of this season I believe) Trillion defaulted on the loan to the B of I and as such the B of I now have a charge on Belle Vue and we seem to be in the crazy situation of having to pay them rent to play there this year. Keeping up so far....?
A closer look at Trillion seems to reveal that their directers are/were Ted Richardson and some of his family members. (who were up to yesterday employed at Wakefield Trinity).

| So LyndsayGill what your actually saying is that Wakefield were responsible for the Irish economy going t*ts up and having to be bailed out by Europe, the same economy that George Osbourne has based his economy recovery plan on, i bet he didn't factor in the Wakefield question.
