Really disappointed to see him go. Think he definitely has another year in him at this level. He'll leave us with some good memories, most of all the kick at the death against Celtic last year.

Hopefully he'll get a good send-off on Friday along with Robbie and Stapo.

Shame, I really like Wilshere and have genuinely enjoyed his time at Salford. He came to us when we had no real class within the team and over the past few years has been a great servant to the club.

He was one of those players the fans wanted us to sign after his performances for Leigh and for once it seemed like the board agreed.

One player who has always given his all for Salford RLFC.

Who is gonna take his place ? IMHO Fitzy has not got what it takes at this leve,l we need to improve the quality of our players not go backwards

Should be interesting to see if we retain White now as well. We need to sign about 4-5 backs in my opinion as Turner and Wilshere have now gone and surely we can't keep relying on the likes of Littler and Fitzpatrick as 1st team choices. At the moment I think McGilvray and Henry are the only backs that we've got next season that should be starting but we desperately need to sign some players.

Isn't McGilvray only on loan with us? Is he definitely wth us next year?

Presumably whether Paul White remains depends on how he recovers from the injury - anyone have any news?

Certainly seems to be indicating that the club need to be spending the Myler money wisely!!!!

Recruitment for this year was pretty good overall and I'll wager it is better for next season

According to the RL press this week, three of your sponsors have reduced their money to your club for next season so I would imagine finance has something to do with the changes being made, although you now have big bucks from the sale of Myler to compensate for that. But also, it's natural for clubs new to Superleague to shed some players after the first season. Castleford got rid of 10 at the end of their first season. Some players make the step up; others don't. Then you have natural wastage like Mr Gorgeous who is now too old and will be playing part-time for Leigh.

I wouldn't be alarmed. It all looks perfectly normal from the outside.

It'd be nice to have the money Wire obviously have this season! They're spending like there is no tomorrow.

I have no idea who's earning what at the club but I'm confident it's the most expensive squad we've ever assembled and we managed 13th place.
It wouldn't surprise me to see more outgoings than incomings. Promote the youth and buy british, we wont climb the table but we may win some moral high-ground.

wilshere is the 5th player to turn down a contract at the club (myler turner drew and stepleton) do they now something we dont.... im hoping more announcements on signings will be made in the next week through not just getting a load of players on loan...

managed to speak to him the other day, He's hoping to get a new contract at salford but hasnt signed yet and should be back training within 2 weeks.

the MEN says up to 9 players but but only mentions 5 including JW.

The club's employees? Knowing more about their contracts than us? I wont stand for that...

Wilshere has been offered reduced wages as our financial flow has been reduced.

Question= What do they know? Answer= There's less money in our club.

Ye & who exactly do we have lined up for replacements with our reduced wage bill that's the problem!

The overseas players cost more due to add ons in their contracts for accommodation, flights etc.

As much as we have Stapo, Phil and Jonny to thank for some memorable games would you offer them anything more than a 1 year deal?


Myler and Turner both went for more money and the greener grass else where, well so long we don't want to pay over the odds for potential.

Sibbit was lucky to get the last contract due to the injuries, Walton is an idiot and then there is Stu.

No real surprises and much of this is natural wages.

Hope the club work hard to find extra sponsorship and sign some good young British players.

Swain adn Cashmere are a step up for our imports.
