Salford City start their pre-season on Saturday 25th July ko 3:00 pm with a local derby at Irlam's Silver Street ground in the Salford Advertiser Trophy Final. Having won the innagaural Final last season the Ammies will be keen to retain the Trophy for another year.

With a trip to Warrington tomorrow I'm hoping for a double celebration this weekend!

Salford City retained the Salford Reporter Trophy with a comfortable 2-1 win against neighbours Irlam in a thoroughly entertaining contest. Despite the narrow scoreline the Ammies created enough chances throughout the game to have won by five or six with an outstanding debut performance from the returning Rhodri Giggs who was part of a 20 man Salford squad.

AFC Wimbledon 2-0 FC Utd

I was at the Irlam-Salford game. Both teams looked rusty and Salford deserved the win and should have won by more than just the one goal. Referee was very poor.

I was at said game. Good turnout from FC, good crowd in general, lovely sunny day and a good game of football. FC missed a penalty and hit the post. Wimbledon's second goal then came when we took our two best defenders off. All-in-all, not a bad performance.
