Seems harsh on the face of it, but maybe the last few results have been the excuse the management needed to bring in who they wanted originally.

If I was employed by Salford in any capacity I'd be working my nads off as our new management are not messing around.

Seriously wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if with all the connections with NZ and Titans if the new guy comes from one of those avenues.

Not shocked at the news but a bit surpised at the speed of it. After what has gone on during the close season I think he desreved a bit more of a go at it. Who now though? If Sheens says he isn't intersted until after the world cup then is Noble an option until then?

I see Alan Hunte has been put in charge. Does this mean Long has gone as well?

Unbelievably harsh on Vievers after holding it all together for the last 12 months. The good Doctor may want his own man, someone recommended by Westy, but I certainly hope when the new man comes in he gets time to move things forward. The last thing we need it to become the Chelski of rugby league.

Harsh but inevitable, if not this soon. Leaves the question of who will take us to the end of the season if we are presuming a new long term man will be approached for the start of next season.

Veivers has maintained his dignity throughout the past 12 difficult months. He can leave with his head held high.

I thought some of the stuff you played last year particularly in the backs was brilliant to watch.

Thought PV would be given longer but my hunch now is that they will bring in Brian McClennan.

I read something online where Chalmers and Lowe were accused of forcing him out of the New Zealand job so I'm not sure how that squares with all of this.

Simms has been linked with a return to Leigh.

Feel a bit sorry for him really, he's had to put up with a lot during his time here, beginning with McRae, then Parrish, and then all our financial problems. His position was always going to come under scruting with the new management though, and I think it was inevitable that he'd end up being sacked - didn't think it'd be this soon though.

I think we must already have somebody lined up, I don't think he'd have been sacked if we hadn't.

Well he does have the best win ratio than any Salford coach is our 134 year history.

I'd put money on a coach all ready to step in. When we got took over it was clear that the management wanted a complete fresh slate, and I'm thinking that it was only a matter of results before PV went.

A shame, as he's been particularly unlucky in his tenure as a first grade Coach. Sure he'll bounce back, coaching game is a ruthless affair in any sport.
