| With the news that Junior Sa'u and Carl Forster signing up for another 2 years what other players would you like us to keep hold of for the next couple of seasons?
Out of Contract 2015 = Andrew Dixon, Jonathan Ford, Darrell Griffin, George Griffin, Matt Groat, Tommy Lee, Luke Menzies, Adrian Morley, Cory Paterson, Tony Puletua, Logan Tomkins, Olsi Krasniqi
I think everyone is aware that we are desperately trying to keep hold of Corey Patterson for next season. I would also like to see us keep hold of George Griffin and Tommy Lee depending how well he plays when he returns from injury although I can't see him keeping the number 9 if we do choose to keep hold of him.
That means we are going to be bringing in...
-Quality Hooker
-2/3 Quality Props
-Loose Forward
-Another Centre
One bonus is that we are keeping our entire back line unless BBJ decides a switch to Hull FC at the end of the year, which wouldn't be so bad if we got hold of Charley.
It's going to be very interesting to see how much money the Doc throws at it next season. I think will Sheens bringing the players in him might just spend of fortune!
Below is our current squad for next season and the year that their contract expires.
1. Niall Evalds (2017)
2. BJB (2017)
3. J.Griffin (2016)
4. Junior Sa'u (2017)
5. Johnson (2017)
6. Rangi Chase (2017)
7. M.Dobson (201icon_cool.gif
8.
9.
10.
11. H.Hansen (2017)
12. W.Hauraki (2017)
13.
14. Theo Fages (2017)
15.
16.
17. Jordan Walne (2017)
18. MasonCB (2016)
19.
20. Adam Walne (2017)
21.
22. Jason Walton (2017)
23.
24. Liam Hood (2016)
25.
26. Carl Forster (2017)

| Haven't we some option on Tomkins?
Also I need to know more about Olsi Krasniqi's contract. I wouldn't be too sure about our no. 14 nor Paterson.

| We definitely need a hooker, 2/3 props, a centre and a loose forward. I wouldn't bother renewing Tommy Lee's contract, he's done ok for us I just don't see him as a hooker. We need to be going all out to keep Paterson on. It will be interesting to see who Harris/Sheens brings in as our marque player.

| I keep thinking that if Theo wants out we should be looking at player swaps for him, sure it would be nice keeping him but he is a very valuable asset that we can use too assist in other playing areas by moving on.

| Obviously we will need a couple of experienced props to replace those leaving/retiring. The priority has to be a top hooker to give us a stronger spine, and I think the club would have to look to the NRL for the right calibre of player. A pacy centre with good hands would also make a refreshing change.

Utter e if you ask me, there's no way they will pay a huge fee for Harrison Hansen who will be on a big contract at Salford.
Corey Patterson may go to Leigh but only if they get promoted which I hope they do to be honest and Wakefield get relegated because of their crap stadium.

Bit harsh mate. I'd still rather us be playing in a crap stadium, owning a club shop, taking money of beer than us playing in souless sadium, and being bent over from the company. God knows how Wilkinson negoitated us into this mess.
Sorry to go off track. I agree with most, CP needs to be signed up. Looking at those expiring in 2016, Hood must be a priority to extend, we've seen time and time again player being left to last year and it's too late, they've been tapped up elsewhere. I also feel Josh Griffin is worthy of an extension along with Walton.
Feel we won't go for a hooker as Harris is happy with Tomkins, so i'd hazard a guess LT / LH and TF will be our hooking options next year. Unless IH continues the Chase at full back experiment, I hope it doesn't out Evalds nose out of place to keep Theo happy. Over Fages and Evalds, I know who I'd want build a team around.

I don't think Wilky was given much choice as the RFL made it very clear that you have to play in a modern stadium to play in Super League. What ever happened to that? Then we lost all our revenue streams which is why the club went into administration in 2012. In hindsight it would have been better staying at The Willows and making improvements to the facilities there and throwing more money at the playing squad.
I think we are best offering Josh a contract extension next year after Darrell has left the club I would definitely be keeping him on always gives 100%.
Hood looks like he could develop into a quality Super League player, great find by Harris. Might be worth another 2 year deal.
The Theo situation is quite simple for me, let things die down for a while, wait until we are on a winning run next season and then throw some good money at him then when things are looking good to keep him onboard.
Walton has impressed me and I think he will get better with time and is a good squad player, I don't worry when I see him in our team sheet.

You know I fully agree with your comments re our stadium: it's so badly placed for me that I'm not going to watch the Vulcan at Barton as its easier to get to Prestbury!
But re stadiums (Greek not Latin)
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=584660
Then he's only signed so far for this year.

I think there was two reasons. Firstly the RFL were holding a gun to the clubs head re the SL licence criteria and secondly many supporters were growing increasingly impatient (myself included) that the new stadium would never happen after over 10 years talk. I think it's fair to say there was a negative apathy surrounding the club with many people thinking it would never happen. Furthermore I believe the club was guided by a detailed (several hundred page report), carried out by so-called experts in this field, stating that attendances would increase by several thousand in a new stadium offering better facilities. How wrong was this?

This made me laugh out loud. This report include the stadiums location? The Stadiums access roads? The facilities around the stadium. Sorry to derail the thread, but if Wilkinson, Tarry and Clague, honestly thought people would come through the gates because of a new stadium then there are fools.

| It didn't deter Sale Sharks from making the same decision did it? Furthermore I think both clubs have been badly let down with the delays. These access roads and developments around the stadium were scheduled to happen well before now.

Hansen will stay because he is committed.
Harris will leave to go to Sale Sharks.

As things stand they are correct, things change though and there is a dialogue between all parties.
There are issues occurring behind closed doors which will have a bearing on any future developments, im led to believe the RFL are less than impressed with the DR.
I would suspect things will become more apparent towards the end of the season, as I have posted previously everything will come to light in the end.

| My old mate and RL fan, Patterson, would not play for Leigh for two reasons: he supports Oldham and he's over 70.
Do you have any news on Paterson?

I really hope not. Hasn't everyone associated with Salford already endured enough over the previous few years?

| I'd use our marque on a worldly of a hooker personally. If we could get a cam smith/Robbie Farah type play it would improve us so much as a team. I can't think of when in the last 20 years we have had a top class hooker who can move a team onto the front foot. I know it's only opinon but do people really think we need to hold onto Walton and Lee? They would be first on my list for out as I think they are both poor players who do zero for me

| Totally agree. Even a player in the mould of a Michael Monaghan would improve us greatly. We need an elite hooker who can read a game and strenghten the spine of the team. I think we would have to look overseas because this kind of player simply isn't available in SL.
I know the club decided to sign Locke but had we invested all that money in a worldy 9 I think we would be in a much better position now. I know hindsight is a wonderful thing but I'd take a quality hooker over a fullback every time.
