One of the more interesting thoughts from a Cas fan on a different link was that they could never find another half back to stand out,when partnering Rangi,so they reverted to playing an extra forward in the halves.
A bit radical,that,but an interesting observation

I don't see an issue with half backs not being able to play together. Usually one attacks the left and the other attacks the right.

If this is true it seems like a massive F*** you to Sneyd and Fages. Especially Sneyd.

Supposing for a second it's true, that would mean Salford would have chase, smith (who despite rumours on here, koukash has said on twitter isn't going), fages, Sneyd and green.

Trouble is, a new Coach is going to want the players he wants. I can see Theo going out on a long term loan, which wouldn't be the end of the world for him, with Sneyd coming back as cover for halves and Fullback. Can see Smith having to give way if Green does come over. Who knows though...

This has got to be bullsi*t how can we have so many half backs. Sneyd would be a perfect foil with chase one creative and the other a perfect kicking game, Surely we need a winger, centre, hooker and a youngish prop!

Contain that outrage for a little while yet. There's a long way to go until next season. I'm sure there will be comings and goings before the start of 2015.

It's fairly obvious to most, that the coach will keep a few and get rid of the others.

We're not just keeping a few though, we appear to be actively recruiting more. At the expense of our own promising halves, and there lies the issue.

Oh you're right, its because of people like sneyd we finished bottom and that's why Cas are struggling this year.

Let's just agree to disagree,otherwise this becomes an analysis of last season.
The bottom line is that we need to improve in every position

We actually finished bottom because of putting 14 players on the meadow for 30 seconds!

We played with just Chase at HB last year, Kept naming Hauraki at 6 but obviously played back row.

Rangi is one of those players you want on the ball 4/5 times a set, So it was pointless playing another half with him. Saw an upturn in our form


As for gathering Hb's. There's gonna be some very unhappy players there. As all will want to be playing week in week out. No wonder Sneyd doesn't want to go back.

Has he replied to any of your tweets begging him to stay yet?

Green is a quality player but I'm not sure if it would be wise spending a chunk of next years budget on him. Smith hasn't really settled so far but with more time he is capable of doing a similar job. Plus we will have Sneyd back who will be challenging for a spot next year.

Personally I think other positions in the team are a priority.

Hopefully we will sign players in positions where they are actually needed for next season, although the early signs aren't good.

I know Harris will want to put his own mark on the team, I just hope we don't end up with a team of ex Wigan players.
