| Si good a thread you posted it thrice.
If we have signed him I say its a very good signing and certainly adds a extra attacking dimension, rated him at Hudds and never really got why they let him go.

| Well as I'm getting my Belgium beer buzz on in Brussels I've not seen any rugby, take it he's had a mare?
Would still take Eden as you don't lose talent like he has, maybe a different set up would suit him and Christ escaping Hull on a daily basis has to be good for anyone.

Rubbish under the high ball, devastating in attack ... was he coached by Luke Patten
All he lacks is good fullback tutor & a bit of confidence , and yes I'd think that Salford would be interested in all good up & coming Englisg RL players ,

| I'd love to see Greg Eden at Salford. He had a shocker yesterday but he's naturally gifted and will improve with age and experience.

| If Eden was to turn into as much as an attacking force as Patten was I'd be very happy indeed. For all his detractors I still found Patten a joy to watch offensively. Think that Eden with right back line around him and creative halves playing to his strengths would be devastating and be a very prolific try scorer.

| I've always been an advocate of offensive fullbacks. I'd rather have a Luke Patten who can be devastating going forward, than a Steve Hampson who was awesome under a high ball. Not having a go at Hampson as he was phenomenal for his time, I just think that modern FB's should be primarily attacking players and not defensive. A good FB shouldn't have to be great defensively if the rest of the team are doing their job. So what if they miss the odd tackle or drop the occasional high ball? High kicks are primarily put to wingers and centres these days anyway.

| Eden is wholely incapable of organising the defensive line. In the end he randomly tells players where to go. The players lose all faith in his direction. After months of focussed coaching Eden just cannot decisively read the game and instruct colleagues..he never will....he is just not smart enough.
Eden also has 'brainfarts' such as trying to pass when apparently held up over the defensive line. He panics.
His reading of the game, especially attacking kicks, is dreadful.
His pass execution is inconsistent.
Finally he is a softc*ck with a pea sized heart. He just chickens out far too often.
Given his failure at the Giants and HKR he would now only appeal to a club with no ambition.

firstly Wholely is spelt Wholly , Focussed is usually spelt Focused.
Eden was not a failure at Giants , he got a better offer from HKR and I don't believe you can class him a failure after 8 games at a new club because he had a howler in atrocious conditions at Caravan Park , Tomkins & Slater have had ' brainfarts' I dare say clubs with no ambition will be after them too.
Lastly nobody who chooses to play professional RL is a Soft--ck

If you are such a small minded twit that needs to correct spelling you may be more convincing if you capitalise correctly. HTH You keep correcting my spelling if it 'does it for you'
On to the rugby.....
He did 'fail' at the Giants and Anderson made it clear that Eden was behind Grix, Murphy and Cudjoe as a full back.
He had years on his contract at the Giants. HKR approached the Giants in the correct manner re Eden. Giants could have refused any deal and no offer could be made. They sold him on because he is not good enough. the suggestion that GE got a better offer is clueless.
I saw GE in five reserve grade games at Cas and 1 tv game for Cas. I have seen every game he played for the Giants and the HKR televised games this year. I also know he hasn't played 8 games for HKR. i am not judging him on one game at CP
He continues to miss a large proportion of tackles ( the stats do not record the tackles not attempted because he is so far out of position) makes far too many errors and has not improved one jot in his organisation of the defensive line in over a year.
Putting Eden in the same class as Slater and Tomkins is hilarious. nathan brown made himself look stupid making the suggestion. These guys brainfart far less, make far fewer errors, miss fewer tackles, attack better and execute passes etc far better.
I have seen eden chicken out of catching a high ball many times and for just as many times stick out a flailing arm rather than put his body on the line in the tackle. He did it against Salford. He is a softc8ck.

| Salford don't need 'icing on the cake' players. We need strong, robust players who can cut it defensively. We definately do not need another Patten in any way shape or form. Like it or not, RL is not, 'Tick and pass'. Throwing the ball about and full backs coming into the line can only be achieved once 'the war of attrition' has been won.
Salford have been a push-over up front since the days of K.H. ended. I for one am tired of seeing our forwards get out-muscled, out-fought and out-enthused. Only when we've got this aspect right can we start looking for players with flair.
Barton needs to be a place where visiting sides feel intimidated. Not arriving to take part in some sort of contact basketball game.

| And think that if we do get Noble a bigger set of forwards will be top of his shopping list. First person he took to Wigan was Fielden so I'd guess he'd come in and do the same, you never know the signings we apparently have in the pipe line that are only awaiting the new coaches approval may be reinforcements for the front row.

| Cripesginger. You may have more success in arguing a point if you don't sink into common insults to somehow back-up your argument. Just makes people switch straight off to anything you're saying that may have a shred of credibility.
Obviously, your opinion is just that. It's also obvious that your opinion is that of a RL fan. Is it more valid than those who currently earn a living in the game?

I must have missed your post pulling up middleman for resorting to giving spelling lessons.
I don't give two hoots if the hard of thinking switch off, I do not need their approval for the points I make to be credible.
The stats on errors / missed tackles etc are not opinions. In the sky games versus salford and cas GE chickened out of catching high balls...if you want to say that is 'opinion' rather than fact then fill your boots. Also Anderson did say Eden was 4th at fb at the Giants (fact not opinion). The Giants happily sold GE to HKR they were not 'outbid' as middleman asserted (fact not opinion). HTH

Nice to see we have a successor to Dantes Inferno, Phil Your Trousers, and all the other members of the Head injury brigade. At least this one can spell I suppose.
Small mercies eh?

I think you are spot on, if Noble does get the nod expect us to sign the biggest and most physical forwards we can get over the next couple of years.
