| Massive respect for Bobbie Goulding, but I'm afraid he has to earn a shot at super league by doing well in the Championship first.

Spooky - I voted exactly that about an hour before your post - though I actually went
Cartwright
Smith
Sheens
But, I just cannot see Cartwright moving from the position he's in now

| As I don't know what the expectations/aspirations of Dr Koukash may be - nor do I know if the idea is to mentor a younger coach - but I do have reservations about Antipodeans of a certain age either needing or wanting to come to the UK and fail to live up to earlier accomplishments and standards required by those employing them.
If Sheens is appointed I don't think he will be recruiting Benji Marshall - [url=http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sport/nrl/benji-marshall-fires-back-in-tim-sheens-feud/story-e6frexnr-1226598443273Story[/url and as he is still being paid by his former club the money on offer may not be tempting
[url=http://www.theaustralian.com.au/news/wests-tigers-ceo-stephen-humphreys-under-pressure-after-off-season-of-turmoil-at-the-club/story-e6frg6n6-12265976267304th paragraph[/url
Obviously some players can complain for a number of reasons but Smith has received some from his former club
[url=http://www.foxsports.com.au/league/nrl-premiership/players-shed-few-tears-for-sacked-coach-brian-smith/story-fn2mcuj6-1226466116603Roosters Revolting[/url
Cartwright may be available sooner than expected [url=http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sport/nrl/titans-coach-john-cartwright-concedes-its-his-last-chance/story-e6frexnr-1226598894958Latest[/url
Lastly, for those interested in conditioning,Steve Murphy,at 2,makes the change seem uninspired given the Cartwright
scenario [url=http://www.titans.com.au/online-chatLink[/url

| The poll is clearly rigged as there's not a single vote for "fan's favourite" Bobbie Goulding. What can coaches like Sheens or Smith bring to the table? I'll bet David Ferriol won't want to come and play for them.

Think we'd take Shaun Edwards wouldn't we? Think he'd become one of the best rL coaches but the wage package he'll on from the WRU would be way more than RL teams would shell out.
On a side note thought it was hillarious yesterday when Clive Woodward at half time during the Wales & England game was slating Ashton for not being able to tackle which is unusual as rugby league players are normally brilliant at it, time we brought him back to RL before he's ruined for life.

Those of us who may have plumped for Cartwright may have to wait for his services
Noticed Luke O'Dwyer hadn't made the team .

5 years after labelling NRL a disruptive influence & unprofessional ACT Brumbies Coach Jake White is now fawning over the influence of newly installed ' Collision Coach ' Brian Smith:-
Quote "You have to learn from those (rugby league) guys," White says. "If you can share that intellectual property, and the thought processes of coaches and their ideas and so on, geez, you're sitting on a goldmine."
'"
Quote White approached Smith about bringing his 30 years of experience in league to the Brumbies. Smith's official title is Collisions Coach, but after a few months on board, it may as well be the Wise Old Head.
"His influence has been massive, honestly," White says.
"You can't really quantify it. It is just in changing the attitudes of players. He has been invaluable in terms of what he's been offering us, on and off the field.
"He was a head coach and a successful head coach, and who has tried and tested things for years, whether it be defensive principles or attacking principles or whatever.
"He has not just come in and said: 'This is how you tackle', it is all the added value he has added to it. He is talking to players about selection, what mentalities are like in league, talking to us (coaches) about things that worked in rugby league about managing squads, how to get the best out of people."

I think we need to get you out of reading rugby union stuff
Two things.Firstly despite huge acclaim for the work Smith did at Hull and Bradford he never lifted silverware.
Secondly, whichever rugby league player goes into the other code he always becomes a defensive coach.I think I include Phil Larder,Mike Ford,Shaun Edwards,Dennis Betts,Graham Steadman and as my head now hurts....

'In Before Easter'
If we're to believe the Local Daily , Smith will be over here to watch us either for the St Helens or Huddersfield games.
Barker obviously believes it's a two horse race ..
Quote Salford Reds owner Marwan Koukash will speak with both Brian Noble and Brian Smith in the next fortnight as he steps up his search for a new head coach.
The two candidates are expected to watch Salford in their forthcoming clashes with St Helens and Huddersfield, with the view to one of them being in place just after Easter.
Noble and Smith are both available and have already expressed a keen interest in replacing Phil Veivers, who was sacked after just five games in charge.

| Both Smith and Noble are fans of Steve McNamara.
Perhaps they may agree to hold the fort until after the autumn World Cup and then Steve Mac will be the head coach.

And his daughter.
Seemingly more people want to see an ex-player with no head coaching experience than a coach who's won three challenge cups, one league leader's shield, and taken a team to a grand final all in the last 5 years.

| I'm surpised about the low voting for ' Bluey ' Brian McClennan , considering his reasonable stats and experience at both Club & international level , and the fact he's available and a New Zealander , must put in the favourites short-list .

| We were told the Australian currency and the Salary Cap would make the purchase of Antipodeans almost impossible.
If we go for an Antipodean coach how will he get to know the best of British talent at the warp speed the club wants to progress ?
Are the New Zealand 2 - Lowe and Chalmers, involved in any advisory capacity for the head coach decision ?
Is the new head coach to develop youngsters as well as attract big names ?
How many big names, from Down Under, did 'Bluey' attract to Leeds ? He signed Greg Eastwood but he returned after just one season.
There are any number of questions and it's a very important decision.
Just because some clubs have done well with certain coaches doesn't mean it will be repeated at Salford where the infrastructure is different.
How many top players want to perform in front of 2k ?

| I thought I read there was someone due to arrive from NZ with a reputation for bringing young players through so I think that the new regime see the need for this, basically the better quality of youngster you get into the squad the more of the salary cap can be used to bring the type of player who is really going to be the catalyst for improvement. I've always been a fan of bringing in Kiwis as they seem to adapt to the UK quicker and in the long run more successfully.
