| Well regardless of how good bad or indifferent the ground is the police treatment of Salford fans leaves a lot to be desired. Ushered out of the ground when singing their support for the team. They wouldn't even let a 7 year old go to the toilet before leaving the ground. Disgraceful!!!!

Hahahahahahahaha what an embarassement you are. You were never ushered out of the ground the 50 of you sang your hearts out..... and rightly so.... you played well. No police officers sent anybody out of the ground, I was sat more or less with the Salford fans. Sour grapes Ah well never mind flower

| I saw a couple of people being let through to use the toilet, must been unlucky with one specific person.
Anyone know what happened down the front of the stand? Saints had a few kicked out, one of our fans seemed to be winding them up while they were on there way out, taking pictures, but the police didn't seem to really care

| I thought it was funny that when a lot of the printed (I.e not season ticket cards) tickets were not working, they let the Saints fans in straighty away but made the Salford fans wait.

| From what I saw on the box tonight, Langtree Park has lost the hostility that Knowesly Road had which the Saints team might miss. There were parts of tonights game where at KR the fans would of been making a heck of a racket trying to rally the team and even when the game was in the bag the noise level just didn't seem to be there.
Apart from the atmosphere the ground itself looks smart and I'm sure as with any new build the facilities will be of a good standard. The pitch looked questionable in areas to say its brand new or maybe it was just the images on sky....

| The pitch was absolutely perfect for the Widnes game in January. Apparently because it was frozen 8 inches deep this week they put a big dome over it and installed heaters to defrost it and some of the grass got a bit burnt, but it will recover soon enough and be in great condition again soon

A pointless post to say the least. But ill entertain you young person with a reply, our pitch is a long way from perfect but we aren't in our first season in a brand new stadium with a supposedly new pitch, playing our first game of the season on it like stains were.
Now jog on.

| Excellent stadium. Lot's of nice little touches to make it that bit more homely for the saints fans: past player boards on the concourses, saints themed concourse bars, signage outside, the red tarmac landscaping, the stadium colours, the fans having their banners around the main home terrace. If only...
Also seems to be a much more accessible location from the town (where there was also Saints signage around the main shopping area) than KR - just a pity that the nearby train station is the one on the mickey mouse line.
Anyone know what the capacity of each terrace is?

Google is your friend
Quote North stand will have 4,718 seats, none standing and 46 disabled seats.
South stand will have 5,233 seats, none standing and 55 disabled seats. It will also hold the St Helens RLFC club shop.
East stand will have 81 seats, 3,899 standing and 5 disabled seats (this will be mainly for the away fans).
West stand will have 118 seats, 3,796 standing and 29 disabled seats.
Total seats is 10,150. Total standing is 7,695.'"

And I'm having a lazy morning. Cheers.
So they hold less than 4000 but appear to be twice the size (judging from rows of crash barriers, level of crossbar, and how much space above the entrances) of our terraces that hold 2500.

| Lovely ground, absolutely superb. Everything a new rugby league ground should be. The Saints Gold bitter was nice and less than £3 a pint - Salford/Azure take note. Just shows what can be done when you own and control everything.
Bit annoyed that the programmes sold out, but I suppose I should've got there earlier.
The stewards, police and toilet situation at the end was a joke. Apparently they can't tell the difference between a football crowd and rugby crowd, but hey ho. The copper eventually let me through to the loo after a couple of minutes of protesting. I really don't know what they thought would happen? Shame because up until then the stewarding had been really friendly.
Still, belting away day, I'm looking forward to future visits there.

Its a long time since I have been called young but I will entertain you.
The IRONY is the fact that your well established pitch is at best a beach at this time of year. Yes it is our 2nd game on the pitch but there were blowers on it for 2 nights which has the effect of drying it out the hence the less than green areas. I would suggest that our new pitch will show up on TV a damn site better than yours next Friday. So jog on yourself.

Yes, I was a bit bemused by being shepherded out along a line of stewards/police - completely unnecessary IMO

| The poor grass on the pitch was explained in the pre amble on sky. Pitch was frozen to 18 inches, so we had to put heaters on it to get the match on and so it was burnt in places because of the heaters.

Saw a bit of a discussion outside the gates post match and wondered what was going on.
I think the police may have spotted you GT in the toilets at half time and thought you liked the place so much you didnt want to leave. You and Mclennan were like a pair of women using the bogs for a bit of a natter.
Good job Billinge Lump and my good self dragged you out of there, otherwise i suspect you would both have missed the second half.

It's because you were "goading" away fans and pointing them out for fights or so they said. RL could do without thugs like you.
Complete OTT reaction from the police must admit.

Fair enough I didn't see the pre-match stuff, just started watching at kick-off. Someone asked about the stadium and I simply gave an observation, to which one of your petty 'fans' decided to get touchy and turn the thread into a Leeds/Saints tit-for-tat.
I just said the pitch looked questionable for a new ground but as you have pointed out it was just cosmetic. Looking forward to visiting myself.

| Saints ground was impressive , in reality the fabric ( breeze block, Steel & cladding ) is similar to ours but the location , near to the town , and and the little touches, colour scheme, memorabilia pub signs adjacent to the kiosks worked.
parking was pretty easy , £1 to park in the centre car parks after 5pm , just a 5 minute walk away. Beware of the retail park parking across from Tesco , they had stooges out threatening to Ticket anyone parking for the ground.
There seemed to be an overreaction by the stewards / Specials to the group of Salford supporters in the north stand , at least from where i was looking in the east stand. one wonders how they plan to cope with larger away support (= everyone bar Broncos & catalans )if they are spooked by a few fans singing,
enjoyed the game all the same even though we were steam rollered late 2nd half.
