And we used to take the mick out of Warrington fans after the first week of the season
Not one for knee jerk reactions. What I will say is this. When Karl Harrison was coach I had the utmost respect and confidence in his coaching ability during his time at the club. I cannot say the same about Mr McRae.

| I said on another topic that under him we show no ability to deviate from the game plan we come out onto the field with (if indeed there is one...).
Last season we showed improvement as the season went on so the same [icould[/i still happen although last night's performance hardly fills me with confidence given the opposition.
I don't really see how getting rid of the coach two games in and completely changing the coaching setup would benefit us in any way though.
We need to be asking this question again when we've played 5-10 games.

| To be very blunt after last nights very poor performance I can't see where our next win will come from.
Now then this no relegation situation in Super League was always going to be a problem when teams are not too concerned by winning or losing games.
I'm sure the Salford City Reds directors will just sit back and wait and see what happens between now and the end of the season, but come this time in 2011 if we find ourselves in the same situation then I'm afraid at the start of 2012 we will not be playing in the Engage Super League even with our new ground.
Over now to you head-caoch McRae because no coach can coach a team to play like the Reds did last night.
Apart from Daniel Holdsworth who I thought gave his all in a well beaten side on the night.

| Who would we get ? I'd have Karl Harrison back tomorrow. Just a few names: Ellery Hanley, Ian Millward, Bobbie Goulding you could throw Paul Cullen in there but wouldn't go down well with some of our fans with his Warrington connection. Any more names ?

| Since he arrived I have questioned his coaching ability, last season was our first back so we should have used that to step up from, all I saw last night was a massive backward step, and our good players from last year a near shadow of the players they were last season. 4 other clubs have similar budgets to us yet they also have coaches who know how to coach and don't spend half their time with the telly people but are 100% behind their club. I can not say the same for the SLUG, after his halftime talks we nearly always play worse, last night we had too many players getting in each others way and seemingly not knowing what the plays were, no forwards taking the ball at pace and when we did break we manage to cock it up with a dropped pass or carry.
No its not good enough, as i said elsewhere can we afford to keep him, because quite a few last night were saying they are not paying to watch that crap = low attendances and a new shiny stadium in the national league. Which will lose more money than sacking the SLUG, if my teaching was as bad as his coaching the only thing I would be drawing is the Dole.

| it looks to me as though we've scaled down the qualty of the squad, accepting we will not be in superleague come the next franchise.
so mcrae will be gone at the end of next season (maybe this one if they decide to kick us out)

We will take some positives from the game is what mcrae will say, instead of what a load of sh*te i saw tonight and there will be changes, if i coached the way they played i would be out of a job apart from one or two players out there tonight who gave there all, the rest were made to look like amatures on a school playing field, sorry not picking on school rugby, just using it as an example, we all know that you are better than the dross we saw last night

| Well unless SMc has a bit of honour and resigns there is surely little that can be done.
Options
a) Move him upstairs to be our Media Manager to avoid a big pay out
b) Trim staff to equalise cost of new coach
c) Look for a coach with IDEAS on how to play OPEN, ATTRACTIVE, ENTERTAINING Rugby League Football.
OK Candidates - Well I will put one hat in the ring.
John Cartwright with Darren Brown as his #2

| For me it is not just about last night. It is McRae's whole reign. It has been totally uninspiring. We were heading for the drop when he took over but if anything got worse. Ok, the following year we won the National League and the NR Cup but can you say it was memorable(save the Grand Final). Think back we were boring to watch and got out of a few scrapes due to our full time fitness levels. There were many games when the team was booed off and many games where the opposition played much better rugby than us. Last season was hit and miss but was centred primarily around one golden period when Myler and Ratchford were inspirational. The start and end of seasons were a damp squib. Throughout McRae's reign it has been the same- one man rugby, poor kicking game, not moving up in defence. handling errors galore. etc etc. We have heard much pre-season about how the team has trained the house down, spirit is good etc and how there has been much emphasis on core skills. In the first two games there has been little evidence of this and let's be honest we have been beaten in both games quite comfortably with something to spare.

| The lad that I generally go with to home games brought a friend from work to his 3rd game and for a casual observer of rL he hit the nail on the head straight away, he suggest that the players we had looked to have the skill levels but seemed to be lacking in motivation.
I've never witnessed such an innept performance from the first home game, the players seemed to wander aimlessly round the park and Cashmere aside our forwards looked shockingly small.
A little aside i'd be willing to bet that Houldsworth doesnt stay the season as he looked dedjected on Friday and he does appear to have no little talent a bigger club I would reckon will come for him.

| Not that I'm defending the team performance, and definitely not McRae, but personally I thought Leuluai and Boyle gave us more go forward than Cashmere and Parker.
On topic, I was pleased when McRae first signed, but that image of him sat in the stands looking clueless when we lost to Hull KR just after he first took over still haunts me. It now to typifies his time in charge.
The big question for me is why do our coaches keep losing the dressing room?
Over the last 10 years the main constant is A L K E R. I keep saying it, but he does seem to think he's bigger than the club.
