Quote ="TheButcher"It all depends on the way Harris wants to play. He may just want a grafter and distributor. If that's the case then we're going to be fine. If he wants a hooker to play off-the-cuff occasionally then he's going to have to rely on Theo or Chase (If he plays there) Of course, he may want both. Keeping an interchange of what he sees as a stock hooker and a flair player for when circumstances dictate.
I think the biggest problem with not having a name at number nine is when we come up against a side with a quality hooker. Will we have enough to nullify them?
That, for me, would be the biggest concern.'"
Precisely Butcher,
when we've been exposed by teams last season a quality scampering '9 ' has been largely responsible.
Clarke @ Cas
Higham at Wire
Roby at Saints
McShane & Godinet At Wakey
Houghton at Hull
Burrow at Leeds
Harris brought in Logan Tomkins immediately on arrival presumably because he recognised we weren't quick enough around the play the ball. he's let Tomkins & Owen the other '9' go . So we go into 2015 with only one bonafide hooker :- Liam Hood, Lee & Fages who I guess are the 1st & second choice for the position are converted halves, and bizarrely Marwan was after another half , Campese to provide cover at 9.
Liam Hood better be the real deal , as much as I appreciate the effort Lee puts in he's a Benchman to cover Loose - Half - or interchange, rather than starting 9.
Lastly who would bring in an overseas player merely for cover in a position he's never played ??
I remember we were linked with Pelissier, McShane, so, were we looking for a first choice Hooker then just decided to stick with the devil we know..
