I'd be very surprised if Simms didn't go on these trips with a shopping list from the coach. I'm pretty certain that SM decided wholey who he wanted to buy and then Simms has the job of going getting them for him.

Well ive got my doubts about that, but either way I dont understand how anyone in such an influential position is unaccountable for their role in the organisation. Everybody around the guy has lost their jobs as a result of poor performances yet he is consistently selecting these people for the job and does not have to justify his own role. Give him the head coaches job and we might force the issue.
