Quote ="SalfordSlim"Guess I'll consider myself disloyal then
Some of you lot need to take your heads out your ar$es. I love Salford RL & I love Utd it just happens that Utd came first. A Manchester derby at Wembley is a one off and a huge game so I don't begrudge any City/Utd fan choosing it over Salford .
Some of you on here hate Football which is fine with me, just don't come out with that holier than thou poop because of it.
Anyway, well played reds (of the RL variety). Great win & hopefully we'll give Wire a hard game on Fri. I just hope I'm allowed in to watch it after my act of treason today!!!'"
Thats me as well after 40 odd years watching Salford I realised I am disloyal, on the say so of the almightier than thou brigade. The score yesterday was the silver lining I needed after yesterday, the match at Wembley was a poor game with very few shots on target 8 in all 6 to United 2 to City, but that was only a small part of it. The coach i was on broke down at Oxford services, this meant catching a bus (the bus stop had real time info so we knew the bus was only 5 mins away) £3.50 to Thame station, Train to London £9 one way, lots of beer £4 a pint, no coach home, mad dash to Euston for last train home £5 tube fare £69 one way to manchester, train was then further delayed after the driver thought we hit something, so all in all my £30 return coach to Wembley cost me an extra £86.50, happy days and a sore head.
But perhaps I should give up my season ticket for Salford, or stop paying the lifeline draw £2 a week since 1984, 2 £10 wins and a £75 win, or not bother with my second season of sponsoring each try home and away for a £1 and rip up my membership of Forever Reds, all because I also support United, and Lancs at cricket as well.
