Major raps to the props today. In particular Cashmere and Boyle who were very physical in everything they did. They frequently dominated the collision, the wrestle and created momentum through their play the ball speed. This in turn encouraged the likes of Jewitt, Sidlow and Adamson to do the same. Ultimately, we got the Wakey defence on the back foot and tired them out enough to make the breaks we made. Especially after about 12 minutes into the 2nd half. 3 sets and 3 clean breaks which eventually led to Parker's try.
Oh, and on the back of a decent platform against a relatively subdued line defence, Feka showed a little more oomph.
Wakey hung on and attempted to fight back and should be applauded, but the high risk nature of their plays suggests to me that they had lost the battle in the middle. It was a little like watching ourselves when we've lost the battle for forward supremacy.
Once again, well done to the forwards for setting the platform!
Oh, and Matty Smith was cracking at hooker. For me, Smith and Godwin at hooker with Stef and DH in the halves is our best set up.
Hmm. It's often said that the real effect of playing St George is felt the week after when your body is in bits due to their style of play. Let's hope they really bash Wigan up tonight and you never know, we might push Wigan close next week.
