The above results show that under Labour between 1997 and 2010, Salford won 29.1% of their games; under the Conservatives, 36.1%.
However, the 95% confidence intervals for percentage wins are:
Labour 24.01% to 34.27%
Conservative 30.67% to 41.51%
As the confidence intervals overlap, we cannot say with statistical certainty that there is a difference in the performance of Salford under the last Labour administration and their performance under the Conservatives.
This only goes to show that there is no difference at all between the policies of New Labour and those of the Conservatives.
