Why should it be a 'soulless box'? Traditional stadia are all very well, but Weldon Road is falling apart. I don't notice any lack of atmosphere at the KC, DW or HJ stadia, all of which brought bigger crowds and more income to the teams who play there. Cas new ground should be no exception.

Jees, I remember been told the same thing in 2008! I'll repeat what I said before and I think this is the only fair way to move forward. If Castleford can demonstrate to the franchise commitiee that ground funding is there (which I personally don't believe) then fair enough Castelford will of earned another franchise. Not really. We haven't broken promises barring, maybe, the one that is that it will be built for 2012. The stadium is still very much in the pipeline and I'm sure even the RFL can recognise the problems we've had to face. The fact is, it's been much harder to build a stadium when you're a) self-financing most of it; b) building it in the poor economic climate; c) trying to build it when austerity is increasing and d) trying to build it when the asset you require to sell in order to build it is being prevented by a chemical licence that has only just been removed.

However, the RFL will find it hard-pushed to kick out a side who is delivering in all other areas and fulfilling the ideals of what licensing is about. If they kick us out it would be a massive injustice, based on the above.

On the other hand, they could kick out the team who are in administration and have faced 4 winding up orders in the last 18 months...

When I ever said I don't want the ground to be built? What's that got to do with the title of the tread? If has you claim, have the funding, what make you so touchy about been scrutinised by the franchise committee?

In the lead up to 2008 franchise you claimed you would be in the new ground by the end of 09 early 2010! You must of known then about the chemical license all other problems but decided not to mention that in your application. Considering that and the warning letter from the RFL surly it's only fair on other clubs that you are held accountable by the franchise committee. What is the problem with that?

Which you conveniently never told the RFL of the problem. If it's now been lifted why haven't you sold WR to raise the capital for the Glasshoughton? I do remember Richard saying that the sale of WR is vital to funding Glasshoughton. Maybe some proper scrutiny by the franchise commitiee will settle the matter once and for all.
