I've been looking forward to the start of the season for so long, now it's here I'm extremely nervous about how our team can perform this year.
I know it's only the first game and isn't really an indicator of what's to come but I think we will get beat by a very big Ull side now that they have shaken the Headingly hoodoo. Hopefully it will be a good game and not a loty of points in it, unless we put on a big score but I dont really see that coming against anyone this year.

I'd have Evans or L.Briscoe on Wing with Newman at centre and sutcliffe dropping out personally. Think Holroyd needs to be now Ava isn't available, don't know why the club feel they need to lie to the fans about certain things why make reports Seumanufagai would be fit for round 1 when he probably was never gonna be.

General opinion on the Hull board is that we will line up like this:

That’s a powerful looking side, feels a bit similar to when watts was there and you won c cup twice.

Is Houghton injured?

Be a real test whether Leeds can hold that side up front especially with Ava out. Plenty of threat from the FC bench as well, Kelly could be handful playing less minutes.

Be a great win for Leeds but I’d be surprised as much as happy.

That Hull side looks pretty good and another reason why I have them top 3 or top 4 at worse.
Will do well for our pack to match them let alone get on top.
I also have worries about Sutcliffe and Newman containing the Hull left side.
A good spirited performance with bodies on the line and that will do for me as we won`t come up against many better teams this year.

Had a wrist operation about 5 weeks ago I think, could have made this game had we not any cover for him. Should be back for HKR next week

Looks a very good side on paper that hull side but we've said that before. We're a couple of quality players short of a good side imo. We're lacking pace out wide and thin on grunt up front

We’ll have to front up without Ava and against a big and athletic Hull team.
A lot will rely on Gale doing everything right to mitigate some of our weaknesses.

Good hull side that. Definitely need to play a possession game and hope Gale and Lui are good with the boot. Keep things tight and hope we have more energy than them in the last quarter.

Were light upfront even with Ava and lack pace in the backs.

Key to our season is the health of Gale and Ward. Lose those 2 and we are no hopers. With those 2 in the team we will be better than the last couple of years.

As ive said before weve no pace in the middle of the park so everything will need to be more structured to break a team down. If we are going to play a more structured game we need our 9 delivering the ball to Gale and Lui when and where they want it. Our kicking game should be better this season too.

For all the hype on Hull you never truly know what you get from that club. I expect them to beat us Sunday but who knows?

Think some people are massively over estimateing Hull, people making out they are major total contenders, rather than perpetual under achicivers. Radford will not see the season out if or when they inevitably hit one of their slumps, think they are 5 placed side at very best, yes they have been on the spend and packed the side with big Pacific Islanders, but have a crap coach and too many tantrum players with egos and attitudes.

They may win tomorrow but if they do it won't be the easy win some of our so called fans are willing for.

Hull are the SL version of Leeds in the 80s. Sign lots of players, get hyped up massively pre-season and achieve nadda.

They might win tomorrow, they might not but they are far too unpredictable to be tipping them to beat us so easily at The Emerald. Were more than capable of competing with them.

I think it is your last sentence that has serious questions, rather than the rest, which might prove correct. It’s how good we are which is questionable.

Exactly, I was going to compare them to us in the 80's genuinely newly think our camp are confident and are in a better place than this time last we, we seem pretty determined to have a real dig in his year, think we are 4-5 players and 2-3 years of being real contenders yet, but think we will win more than we lose this year and we won't be bending over as much as last year, think sides are going to have to work much harder than last year to get the points from us, and that should start tomorrow.

We are not where we need to be, but pretty confident we are not where we were, regardless of anything else think we should have more direction and some fight in us this year, and I do not see too much between us and Hull to say they are going to steam roller us with ease as some are suggesting.

Yeah i would agree with that. We arent where we need to be but as ive said previously i do think we can compete at home to Hull with Gale and Ward fit.

I know the point you are making is competing isnt good enough but at this stage that is where, i think, we are at currently.

I cant say Hull are this formidable outfit people are claiming but lets see. Maybe they will be. They have been so unpredictable for years that its hard to call.

Lots of teams look better on paper, Hull and Leeds are 2 of them, but injuries will have the biggest impact on how a team performs, and the teams with the least injuries will probably but the teams at the top.
