IIRC your Centenary Season (95-96) home shirt was black and white hooped, kid in my rugby team at the time had it, was one of the better shirts around then.

Also remember the guy at Retro Rugby (Octopus Sport) telling me he was working on a retro Widnes shirt but apparantly it's never come off.

The centenary shirt was black & white hooped and one of our best (designed in part by Dave Myers) rest his soul.

We have had a couple of retro shirts done and last season we had an 89 World Club Champions shirt done.

I was never overly keen on the 93 Wembley shirt which you like in the pic's above though.

I've always wondered what the traditional Warrington shirt is supposed to look like for the same reason!

Blue with a primrose and white chevron
White with primrose and blue chevron
Primrose and blue hoops
Primrose and blue stripeps
White with primrose and blue hoop
Blue with primrose and white hoop
And many other varients of the three colours (or primrose and blue without the white)

I like that new Widnes kit, better than 90% of the Kooga ones.

You could tell that was a Widnes shirt even if it didn't have a badge on it.

It's clearly designed on the most popular type of car seen driving around Widnes by a spotty youth wearing his baseball cap on back to front - a 'Cut n' shut' consisting of half an Astra mated to the other half of a Saxo and held together with duct tape and super glue.

The club were clearly keen to make the shirt attractive to these type of people so they mated the top half of a Hull FC shirt with the bottom half of an old Wakefield one.

Nice work Widnes, you can barely see the join.

getting back on topic, i would just like to say i think the Cas home jersey for the coming year is rather dashing, very old fashioned in a way. which is pretty cool when done correctly. i like it for the same reasons liverpools recently ressurected grey with red trim kit went down well. the Cas shirt wouldnt have looked out of place 20 years ago, but nor does it look dated in 2011.

Wigan are known for their iconic cherry and white hooped jerseys. Of all games they have been involved in you would think they would use that one for the WCC
