You're a lesser club now than you were then! You're less competitive, your crowds are worse and no one outside RL knows who the hell you are because you jumped into bed with a union club, borrowed their pyjamas and got their name!

Yeah your squad is made up of predominately British players; problem is they're not very good. None of them have made a jot of difference to the competitiveness of the national side - and after [i15 years[/i in Super League.

Admittedly HKR would do well to prepare a little earlier for the rules rather than exhausting every single possibility of adding yet another aussie to their payroll, but if you think what's going on at quins is worth celebrating, you carry on lad

so...15 years ago we should have unveiled a squad of 19 to 27yr old londoners we had grown in a lab?


Tonny Clubb......9yrs old when SL started....made a pretty big impact IIRC. If his name was Tomkins he would be seen as the saviour of the game but because he's from little old london it was only PNG


Back on the topic.......HKA have more overseas players than 2 other SL clubs and yet you still come back to this thread trying to defend this fact. I even said fair play if you can get away with it and you had to have a go.....so here we go again....you will win SFA this year.....have to bin a few crims next year an end up the lesser of th 2 hull teams again......and the only people to gain are the average aussies here for their pensions.

30 years of RL help and preferential treatment has won your sham of a club SFA.

Our progress the last few years has been earned, not having things handed to us like Fulcrubronquins have had, e.g. your SL place which you did not deserve.

You havent brought in the likes of Shenton or Diskin because you have spent more on overseas players, and you havent brought in the likes of Amor, Coady, Hardaker, Kettlewell, for the same reason you havent brought through many academy players, because it is easier to sign an NRL failure.

1. Re-read the thread title. If you want to bitch about imaginary hand outs etc then start another thread. I miss the old "BLAME lONDON' threads we used to get from you flatearth lot...they were fun. This thread is about overseas players.
2. You earned your SL status....but you have had "special" dipensations on overseas players...so your progress has been assisted by the RFL......and that's a fact unlike imaginary cash injections.
3.In 2000, I believe that the London Broncos had 9 overseas players in their squad. Regardless of if you want to count back to Fulham, the crusaders, or any other incarnation, the fact remains that 20yrs or 5 years after our inception...we had less overseas players than a team with a proud 130+ yr history......
4. In 1997, we finished 2nd in SL. We did this with 11 overseas players in the squad......1 more than you have now.
5. In 2003 and 2005 we made the play-offs with 7 overseas players each time......3 less than you have now.
6. Since SL started, there have been 22 teams that have taken part in the comp.......of the 8 that are no longer in the comp, which ones would you have replace us? Widnes? Possibly...they are a proper RL club with an academy set up in place whllst in the Championship....and a pretty good one at that. Of the others....leigh, oldham, Paris, Sheffield, Halifax, Workington and Gateshead...do you believe that these are a better option than London? I mean to say....we don;t even hold the record for the lowest average gates in a season.....I believe that Halifax, Workington and Paris are debating that stat. So whilst we have no fans to speak of (see point 1)...we have never finished in a relegation position and only Widnes and Catalans fans can debate that topic with any authority.
7. How many HKA academy products have been capped by England/GB since 1996? How many have scored 4 tries in an England international since 1996.
8. Your argument that you have had to live in the shadow of SL carries no water if you continue to state that we were created in 1980........so what date do you want to use?

ATEOTD Gutterfax we choose to blend youth with experience because we can afford to. Fulcrubronquins concentrate solely on youth these days because it is the experiment's only option - if you don't create revenue, you can't afford stars, simples.

I get paid by both codes over here and seem to be doing an OK job.....contracts just renewed.

Quins and the Broncos before hand seemed to have an attitude that whatever I suggested they would do the opposite.......I am the clubs biggest detractor and speaking the plain truth bluntly isn't what they want to hear.....

anyway...at least if the club do go under, they will do so with a decent group of youngsters coming through that will be looking for new clubs.....they just won't apply to East Hull...there's no room there because of all the 'stralians.
