We have one of the best, if not the best pack in the League. Two decent half backs who can create chances. That leaves our backline a little short, but still good enough to create and finish chances off.

Whilst I'd listen to what most Leeds fans had to say about the Bird signing, I find Hetherington's comments extremely time-consuming and frankly, boring. Bird isn't banned from playing in the NRL, Cronulla simply didn't want him playing for another club because they knew he'd have gone somewhere else.

It is simply a matter of which clubs decide to do what. Leeds stuck by Ryan Bailey, as did Bradford over Leon Pryce and as Saints probably will do know. The signing doesn't de-value or make the Super League lose appeal at all, because Greg Bird simply hasn't been convicted of anything.

Was he a wife beater? I'm aware of some other stuff he did, now. But then, I by the time he really went off the rails at Widnes I wasn't really aware of his previous and he'd fallen out of favour with the fans.

You're missing a whole load of "alledged"'s in there, Bird has not been convicted of beating anyone (and she also isn't his wife)

Did people turn their backs on Gary Schofield, Keith Senior etc etc. all who have been accused of the same (as have many many other sportspeople)

1. As far as I'm aware, there has been no official reason given for Carney's visa refusal. The idea that it was solely down to his criminal conviction is pure speculation.

2. I'm pretty sure that the Huddersfield board were equally sanguine about Carney's paperwork.
