The difference between the 2 clubs is that in the 10 years since then, we have signed 2 MOS players,at the time of holding the award, to your 0.

You need to understand that most of your signings are “After the Mayors Show”.

Lets be totally honest I dont think anyone except the signing of Barba could be lorded as massive overseas signings. Gone are the days when genuinely top players used to sign over here, we will never ever see as many of the likes of Lam, Barrett, Vainikolo, Hape, Renouf, Puletua, Lyon, Gidley etc etc etc. Personally Barba is justifying all the hype he is getting as he is tearing the comp to shreds. We will not see another elite player in their pomp come over here again without a misdemeanor stopping them being signed in the NRL and thats a sad indictment of where our game is

They're a damn sight better than yours overall in recent times except Barba. Even one of your saints posters gives a reason, a few posts back, as to why your signings have been poundstretcher in recent years.

Look, just be pleased that your playing well again after a number years of boredom. You're playing totally wicked rugby in the totally wicked stadium with a statue of Kieran Cunningham proudly watching over- pure utopia. Its a bit of a strange arguement about who recruits the best players, surely you only recruit players to supplement the players you've brought through your own academy.

So if you're recruiting a lot of players it means your not doing too good a job developing your own.

So recruiting more players than another club isn't really something to boast about.

If you read the thread properly, you'll find I'm responding to the usual saints mickey taking of other sides' recruitment when theirs is hardly anything to write home about.

How hard is it to understand that no one has taken the mickey out of anyone’s recruitment. There’s a difference between criticising a player and criticising the clubs recruitment.

So you’ve signed players who were playing very well at the time but now they’ve signed for Wire, they’re failing to hit the heights again? Also, I wouldn’t worry because we are about to have another soon enough.

There is some justification in it, for example your great signing of Tyrone Roberts is probably one of the worst half backs in Superleague only has 1 try and 3 try assists with loads of errors, I reckon you could have signed coronation streets Tyrone Dobbs he would have done a better job and saved you money in the process.

This is very true, Saints bring a lot of players through the system to become super league players, our club trained players taking part this season is complimentary of this:-

Our club trained 13 as follows in our 19, and 9 of those are or have been international standard.

As a point of principle Lebron- make sure as108 stops talking rubbish, cos it's embarrassing to the saints fans.

And still you haven’t shown where anyone has actually criticised Warringtons recruitment.

Over the last 10 years we have signed some dross. I don't see how that can be argued against at all. Our recruitment was terrible before Brown took over, who then made some good signings in the positions we needed them. Needed props so brought in Amor, Masoe and arguably Walmsley, needed a scrum half so brought in Walsh.

Then it took a nosedive under KC with him bringing in the likes of Owens, Peyroux (shocking before Holbrook took over), Tasi, Vea.

In the past decade, 2 years of good signings with the odd other decent signing throughout that time is pretty poor.

Thank God 'second row saint', some sanity. Ours hasn't been great either. If I'm honest, over the past few years, bar Daryl Clark and Ben Murdock Masilla, we could have done with more luck.

On a side note SecondRowSaint, you could do with getting some descent saints posters back on here. As108 and the rest are giving you a bad name.

I tried to look back on a season by season basis to see which players were signed that could be credited as good but wikipedia didn't do each season in full. The fact that only a handful of players can be argued shows it's been poor.

Most of our posters were wiped out under KC's reign. Posters like Saddened/Mugwump didn't help either with their constant e. Saddened was overly pessimistic with everything, with Mugwump praising every little thing the club did.

Again I wouldn’t say Judderman was criticising Warringtons recruitment as such. He’s simply saying that Warringtons signings play well at their previous clubs and when they make the move their performance dips. It’s not a criticism because they look like good signings, until they play. On paper Warringtons recruitment is (most of the time) good apart from one to many experienced Aussies. I’ve certainly not criticised Warringtons recruitment over the last 10 years, as a club you are ambitious and pay good money for players who are better than most in SL. Unfortunately for you up until this point it hasn’t been as successful as perhaps (for the money spent) it should have been.

I also aware that our recruitment has been (up until now) rubbish for the past 10 years with the exception of Walmsley, Amor, Barba and on paper Naiqama. Thankfully we have a great academy system full of talent and that has got us through the years of poor recruitment. However, I’ve no doubt the new stadium and KC in charge contributed to the poor signings. The likes of Dawson, Tasi, Vea, Owens etc would never happen under Holbrook. The only criticism I could have of Warrington is their academy is rubbish. That’s the difference between Wire and Saints, Wigan, Leeds.

Fair play as108 and a descent post, though I think its a bit harsh to call our academy rubbish. Admittedly Wigan, Leeds and Saints seem seem to cultivate their youth players better. As much as it pains me to say, I think Wigan are outstanding in terms of youth talent making the grade- there's a case for saying that Wigan, man for man, per head of population, produce better rugby players than anywhere else on this planet.
