Agree re Hodgson, he has a few game changers in his locker like a ball steal or a 40/20, but when he pulls an international shirt on he just trys to play too much on his own and his kicking isn't up to it. For me not in the same class as Roby or Clark

Widdopp annoys me - in too many games he just doesn't commit defenders. Lomax looked better when he came on.

The pack needs some dynamism, and spark from dummy half. Watts and Clark should be in that 17. Hopefully Lomax's performance in the 2nd half will stop Coote ever playing for GB again.

Tui Lolohea showing GB how to boss the HB position. GB have the man of steel, but only use him on the left. Widdop on the right and ineffective. Neither organising. Coote awful. Lomax should have been on from the start. I think GB suffered from too many cooks and nobody really got a grip on the game. Hodgson was left to call the shots, but it all looked a little disjointed. Too many silly errors cost field position.

I've watched Canberra all season and Hodgson is an incredible hooker. Those saying Clarke is better need to base that judgement on more than an International game against Tonga. They're both great nines but Hodgson is currently way ahead of anyone else for that shirt.

He's certainly never looked incredible at this level.

It's great for the game that Tonga play with that much pride when they play in front of their people, but unfortunately the only two places they can get that support are NZ and Western Sydney.

I've never understood the plaudits Coote has had; the CC final showed him up. Gildart good feet but not big enough. Hardaker at FB. But then we'd end up with 2 second rowers playing centre. Can't believe he hasn't picked Percival.

Thought Hastings was good. Coote was predictably awful.

Absolutely, those commenting don’t watch any NRL. I’m the same, have seen a lot of Hodgson for the raiders and he’s probably the best in the world in his position in my opinion.

This tragic defeat for Great Britain has shown the folly of ignoring the custodian of the French glamour club, Catalans Dragons, the one and only Samuel Tomkins. Had Samuel Tomkins been playing full back instead of the Scottish descended Australian Lachlan Coote, Michael Jennings would not have scored his try, and hence Great Britain would have been in the match with a real chance.

Samuel Tomkins showed in the Downer Nines that he is the most brilliant attacking player that Great Britain possesses. He is also a very capable goal kicker. His omission from the Great Britain team today was a huge blunder by the coach.

The GB kicking game was woeful.
And although Hastings improved as the game went on, there wasn't too much coming from the halves.
Coote was very average.
He looked great in a dominant Saints side this season but, wasn't giving enough.
McGilvery was superb, making great metres and solid at the back, Walmsley looked to be our best forward but, we're now really short of options at centre.
Hardaker went ok but would have been better at FB

Could always play Jake Connor.

One big question is, whether playing under the "Great Britain" banner has actually added anything to the tour ?
We have an Australian Scot and a Warrington born Irishman in an otherwise English side (plus Hastings)
