| Great, an argument by the people of Hull about who's loses were worse.
No wonder the city gets laughed at.

| The Wigan game last week acted as a marker for our coaching staff, players, fans etc to see what level we need to be at for the play-offs, we took that on board and came out and put on a superb show of attacking rugby league....fast, hard, entertaining and Hull had no answer to it, we blew them away early doors and by 20 minutes they had no idea what had hit them and crumbled.
They were bad but we MADE them bad by destroying them. Some people have tried to take the gloss of it by insisting it was Hull that made us look good by being bad but we scored in the 1st set of the game and we grew and they shrunk. I dont think they intended to be so bad but when a team comes out firing like we did ( and Wire usually do against us, hence our record against them) then its almost impossible to get a foothold into the game. It was quite clear our gameplan was to blitz them early doors and it worked.

| A better team, a more mature, experienced team, some would say even a more cynical team would have stopped Hudds running away with it so much, so quickly.
Its hard to judge just how good Hudds performance was because whilst they did finish everything, and everything stuck and they were very very clinical, they were playing against a side which did nothing, gave nothing, tried nothing and just really weren’t anywhere near the races for any portion of the match. They didn’t even try and unsettle them.

| Ellis was pretty cynical in some of his play at times, plenty off the ball stuff he was up to.
That said he did also spend a lot of time watching players run past him

| It is to be hoped that last night's stroll in the park for Huddersfield against a dire whipping boy SL rabble outfit does not harm their chances in the proper semi final next week. Question marks still remain over Huddersfield's credentials to beat a top SL side in the play-offs when it really matters.

Then we could argue that we made them that bad by being so clinical and destructive, if we run hard enough, fast enough etc then they wont be able to stop us.
Believe me having watched all but 2 of our games this season we were very, very good last night. We had something from the 1st whistle that i haven't seen for a while, we had a desire to tear into it and give the opposition a good thumping and we did exactly that.

| If Hull's a rugby league town why
a) are they so bad at rugby league
b) do they bring in all their best players from Australia or Castleford?

Jeez, one abysmal performance and suddenly we're awful at RL full stop.
Plus three of our best performers this year have been Horne, Crooks and Lineham. None of those came from Cas or Aus.....

Why was Horne playing right centre last night? Miller's so bad you'd think Horne would've been in the halves.

We've no other centres, Arundel and Crooks are injured. Whiting could have played there but apparently he was injured too.
That's the worst game Miller has had for us by some margin, same with just about everyone else.

Hudds were very very good. You don't score 76 points just because the other team are poor.
That being said, Hull were also very very poor. You shouldn't concede 76 points no matter how good the opposition are at this level. There were some tries that Hudds had absolutely no right to score. The first one, Yeaman didn't even try to move. A Huddersfield player didn't make him do that. He didn't have to do anything!
Absolutely awful stuff.
Paul Anderson should be concerned about letting 18 points though against a side that couldn't attack a pub dinner.

In fairness, our first try was lucky. Our second, I think McGillvray had just switched off a bit. Not hugely surprising given the game was done by then.
Our last try was actually a fairly well constructed effort that included some quick handling for a change.
All in all not something to be hugely worried about.

| I wonder if Adam Pearson will make it an ongoing policy for mandatory refunds to all fans who turn up to games where the performance of the Hull team is considered embarrassing and unacceptable?
That should effectively halve the cost of a season ticket for regulars there.

As your first question calls for a subjective answer, who will decide if the performance is satisfactory.
Secondly, its really got nothing to do with you.

I think its called irony.
for years we were poor ,we were easybeats,we were rightly mocked and scorn was poured over us,we accepted that,we deserved criticism. then when we started to improve people were saying its great that another club are challenging the top clubs.
now that we are right up there as GF contenders and have just walloped the 6th place team,a team that got to the cup final no less,in record fashion, it seems that only happened because hull were poor, the play offs are set up wrong, the RFL are useless etc etc
we are enjoying what we are doing now after years of crap,we are loving every minute of it, but it seems some people just cant or wont accept that we are a decent mob this year.
ironic that people called us for being crap now we are good its because of other factors, its quite amusing and complimentary that we seemed to have rubbed a few people up by becoming good

It happens, as a Leeds fan we've had to hear whinging about the success we've had. In 2007 & 2008 it was wrong that we came 2nd to Saints in the league but beat them in the GF....we weren't worthy champions some said. In the last two years we've heard a load (even from some of our own supporters), we're almost solely responsible for making the regular season meaningless simply because we fought like the team that wanted it the most come playoff time. We showed that the format is fatally flawed and that 5th is easier than 4th because we knocked that team out twice.....We just knocked 5th out and 4th is a home game away from Old Trafford. SOME people couldn't and still can't bring themselves to say "we'll done & congratulations".
Note for Giants fans, if you do win the GF, this year or another, then some people will still knock the achievement. Hell you can't say you've not read or heard Giants fans do the same to other teams. But on the other hand you'll get fans congratulating you, I've already read a few posts from fans of other clubs saying they hope Hudds reach Old Trafford. So calm down and stop worrying that the rugby league world isn't bowing down to your feet yet.

Get rid of the chips on your shoulder and get used to it. It's what happens when you are successful. Take it as a compliment.
Leeds have won 6 grand finals in the last 10 years and each one was discredited by some on here. It was the rain, they had an easier run, lucky with injuries, they shouldnt have had that penalty for holding down in the 36th minute, the playoff format made it easy, etc etc. So if you are waiting for people to bow down and worship huddersfield as the lord and saviours you're going to be waiting the rest of your life.
Just enjoy the long awaited success and don't get so het up because people aren't jizzing themselves over you.

Loads of people raised eyebrows at the team finishing 5th winning the playoffs, but most people I read ( and it's certainly my opinion too ) also did indeed say "well done and congratulations". You can only win the competition as it's laid out at the start of the season, and if that means a strategy of 'just stay in the mix and make sure you peak at the knockout stage', then fair play to whichever team does that best. BUT ... it's still fair to question the effect of the structure on regular season. I'm sure there are a few people out there that somehow had a go at Leeds for winning from 5th, but in my experience, I've rarely heard anyone say anything other than, "fair play to Leeds...not sure we've got the structure right, but fair play".
