That's what you'd expect being the last line of defence behind a woeful Rovers team. I'd be more worried if he wasn't in shot.
Quote ="Wellsy13"Sometimes they were just two-on-ones, but others were just awful positioning for a full back. And he got boomed a couple of times too.'"
Ah, lets slate him for getting tackled!
Quote ="Wellsy13"He also "got away with" a few dropped balls. He was actually lucky in a way!'"
You mean he caught them, yeah, lets slate him for catching bombs as well!
He actually played quite well 1st half.

| He could have had that stinker on a wet Sunday in March at Wakefield, and virtually nobody would have noticed or remembered it.
Shame for him that it happened on the biggest stage in front of his biggest audience as a player. Hopefully it doesn't go on to define his career, in the same way that it did that of Nathan Graham for example.

Didn't he make a knock in while challenging for a kick in the first half which went unnoticed? In the second half he knocked on a grubber but got away with it because Briscoe was inside the 10. The penalty was fair but he still got away with it, I really don't think Briscoe determined whether he knocked on or not.

That will be down to the lad's character, if he watches it back and looks at it as a way he can improve and cut down on errors, he will be ok. He is a talented player who needs to get better in defence and his ball handling, which isn't impossible to sort out. Pity Shaun Briscoe isn't still coaching with us.

Casting my mind back to that, wasn't nathan graham a hooker/half by trade and was playing out of position at full back anyway for bradford, as they couldn't play stuart spruce as he was signed after the cut off for the cup.
I don't think it actually ruined his career as he was one of many players that bradford had pulled in that off season and he was fighting robbie paul, graham bradley, glen tomlinson and james lowes for a first team shirt.
Though you are right over defined, he's remembered for that more than anything else.

You're right, and I never argued otherwise. Again, it was just an excuse to show all NINE tries being scored.

It wasn't "getting tackled" that he just got boomed in (and ultimately dropped the ball nearly each time, but let's not slate him for dropping the ball, the poor dear), he got boomed trying to make tackles as well (Kallum Watkins sat him down).

Did you blink at the part where he dropped the high ball into a Leeds player and it bounced off him and he regained it without the ref noticing (and cover your ears when Jonathan Davies spotted it)?
What about the knock on at the play the ball that he regathered without the ref noticing? Or the dropped grubber that luckily saw the ref ping Briscoe for offside?
Yeah, he "caught them" alright!
Hilarious!
Quote He actually played quite well 1st half.'"
He didn't play as badly as the rest. I wouldn't say he played well at all. No one in a Rovers shirt played well, apart from maybe Kelly who got two tremendous 40-20s.

| Albert Kelly is a very very good rugby league player.
Kieron Dixon is a young player with tremendous speed who would like to be a very very good rugby league player.

Kieran is a very good athlete with bags of enthusiasm and amazing acceleration and agility. Very low on the basics, positioning and composure however. Very much a "confidence player".

| He played well yesterday and was a clear MOTM in my view. He took all his high kicks well, some under pressure. Ironically the only dropped high bomb was by Ken Sio !!

Were did he actually play yesterday? I saw he was down at FB on the Team sheets. But the duties at the back seemed to be mainly down to Ken Sio.
I didn't see him take many kicks at all.

No, only one towards the end. Nearly got one first half though. Think Thaler gave it then changed his mind.

Thaler initially gave it but asked the VR. Which showed he was just over the 40m line when he kicked it.

| After this weekend's performance Dixon may be approached by NFL talent scouts looking for the next Jarryd Hayne..
Dixon could be an NFL kick returner or punt returner in the mould of Devin Hester.

No. Marcus Allen was never a punt/kick returner. He was a general running back, with passing skills, who had an extraordinary career. Marcus is a Hall of Famer, and Heisman Trophy winner, and he won numerous great awards.
Devin Hester is still playing at age 32 (formerly Chicago now Atlanta), and though he is not as big as Marcus Allen, he is faster. Hester has scored the greatest number of touchdowns from punt/kick returner in the history of the NFL. He could become a Hall of Famer after he retires.
These are some of his highlights:
https://www.facebook.com/boredfilmgrads ... 880770635/
Kieran Dixon is too small and fragile to ever be a general running back. His best chance in the NFL would be as punt/kick returner, which would take advantage of his speed and evasiveness, and at the same time would not require him to tackle anyone.
