7000 mile round trips for the weekly (well, fortnightly) rounds, is just madness - so much for climate change
'"
It's a 5000 mile round trip from Sydney to Perth, but every one think that NRL expansion is good.
Yes, flying creates a carbon footprint, but the effect of flying alone is massively overstated.
Flying and driving will become the preserve of the rich again soon, under the guise of saving the planet.
Stopping TO playing the SL is not part of the solution needed.

| Without wanting to create thread drift, avoiding 1 return Trans-Atlantic trip per year, would save 1.6 tonnes of C02 per year.
You can make the same saving by switching to green energy.
Or, you can save 58.6 tonnes of C02 by having 1 less child in your family!

Sorry mate but, the inclusion of a club 3500 miles away in a "European" league was mad from the outset, regardless of climate change.
As a Super League Club, they are exempt from just too many aspects of the game.
Being classed as European as far as quote spots, in itself is just daft and that's only the tip of the (melting) ice berg.
Reserve sides, junior sides, quota spots, any meaningful player development etc, etc, etc.
Just a (very) rich mans play thing

| We should cancel rugby league altogether. Too many people driving cars to games/training/anything related to rugby league. Plus the amount of meat the players eat.
It's contributing to climate change.

| The climate change situation, must be why Toulouse might not be attending the Summer Bash in Blackpool !
Toulouse to snub Summer Bash
Net year’s Summer Bash could be missing two teams as Toulouse Olympique prepare to stage their own event that weekend, report League Express.
The French club are set to be absent from Bloomfield Road in 2020, with Toulouse opting for their own mini ‘Magique Bash’ at their new Stade Ernest Wallon Stadium home, according to League Express.

Spot on, we have a fan called Belly could do something or other who swears this is massve.
Let's get this straight, nobody in Canada knows who SWB is, they barely know who the Wolfpack are and this meeting of the two registers 0.0000009 on the news scale in Canada.
If they were to go for a gimmick signing then surely some mid-range NFL/Candian league player would do better, someone they may have heard of. Won't matter much as I suspect SBW will barely play anyway and just trouser his pension.

Considering you and your multiple aliases post from a secure unit in the shire, I'll take anything you spew with a kilo of Salt.
1. The Sun. 6 days ago and lost in the obscure "other sports" section, listed after womens soccer....hardly daily and hardly a headline
[urlhttps://torontosun.com/sports/other-sports/wolfpack-make-it-official-signing-new-zealand-superstar-to-two-year-deal[/url
2. Toronto Globe and Mail.....same company, same reporters BTW... Struggling to find even a mention of the signing but again, nothing for a week
[urlhttps://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/[/url
See Stephelrbronjamesbazza or whatever you're logged in as......the Toronto Press doesn't know or care who either SBW or The Wolfpack are.
Let me know when their major North American TV slots in BTW.....you know, the one where they don't have to pay the production company (when they actually pay their bills) and then give it free of charge to anyone who needs "filler" stock

I've just posted a link to the last report in the sun nearly a week ago and couldn't find anything recent in the globe'n'mail.....the ONLY people who think this is a big deal are RL people....and given it's the off season, that's to be expected, but one the NRL season starts, the Aussies won't care and other than a few dozen keyboard heroes on this site, totalfacistrl and a couple of others, nobody in the UK will either.

So, over on WWW.RLFASCIST .COM, there's a debate about the best (ie, the cheapest) way to get to Toronto for games this coming season.
It would seem that Toronto have yet to declare there ticketing for the season other than Season Tickets, priced very reasonably at CA$399, but other than ticketing, the issue seems to be around the cost of direct flights, accommodation, the duration of the stay and the overall cost of travelling across the pond to watch a game of Rugby.......which I think is a deliciously ironic topic, given most RL fans won't attend games on Thursday nights because "it's a drag".
Anyway, the general consensus seems to be about £1,100-£1,300 will be the cost for a 5 -7 day trip, so I was wondering if Jean was making the trip when Catalans play in Toronto over the August Bank Holiday weekend, or will he be at Shark Park cheering on his beloved Sharkies?

Unfortunately, the poster, formally known as Lebron James, isn't too well known for the accuracy of his posting and is generally a WUM.
He stopped posting completely for a while and then made a comeback, under a new name, when Saints found their bottle.
SBW didn't manage daily news coverage when he was at the peak of his career and although he is a great, if expensive signing for TWP, he isn't going to be headline news anytime soon, especially in a city already dominated by other mainstream sports.
Good luck to the player though, who has been box office for most of his career.

I've said many times that TWP have done a superb job in promoting a new sport in a "virgin" area and of all the SL clubs, they already appear to be head and shoulders above the rest of the sport in terms pf their promotion and publicity (mind you it's much easier when money doesn't matter).
IF their attendance numbers are to be believed, they should be now be capable of selling out The Lamport Stadium for every home game, which would be superb and if they are here for the long term it would be great to see them playing out of a "better" facility.
We all have to see how it runs and they must, must find a way to develop at least some of their own players, although Im not sure how this can happen without junior rugby being sold to the masses.
It's "easy" to plant a side in new territory but, sustaining it is a whole different ball game.

| The Chinese press have ran an article on SBWs move to Toronto. The Chinese press have never commented on the London Broncos, even when Branson was in charge.
This just proves that the whole world knows who Toronto Wolfpack are but have no idea who the London Broncos are
