| Really enjoyed it...despite Warrington being dire.
Had lots of chats with other fans in a good atmosphere...bumped into various natives including a very keen South Wales Scorpions fan
Only down sides were that various grumbling whiners did not attend...the food was not a patch on Murrayfield...and it was cold....

| I enjoyed it , stopped in Bristol in a guest house just outside city centre and was excellent value for the money.
had some good banter with other fans with no hint of trouble in the ground or outside.
people who knock this event should actually come and try it one year cos its a great event and i hope it carries on for many years to come !!

It's not all about the attendance on the day. It's about media interest. Getting people talking about rugby league. Many fans dress the event as a success depending on how many fans are in the stadium. Surely it's about how many where in the stadium but also how many people watched the games around the country.

| Loved it. As a London fan, 30,000 is a lot of people, not a few, and it was great to be enjoying games in such a friendly atmosphere. OK, some of the play wasn't great and I was lucky to enjoy the Quins game as a partisan rather than a neutral, but me and Master Sheen had a wondeful time. Roll on next year, and we'll bring some with us.

| Those that say it's rubbish need to think about the 60,000 fans that have been and enjoyed themselves as well as those that have enjoyed watching the event on telly.
It needs a few tweaks but overall it's a great weekend.
We stayed in Swansea again where the nightlife is first class. Cardiff is much better than Edinburg as a venue.
Only criticism was having the Hull derby as the last game given the distance we have to travel. Some fans won't be getting home until about 1am.

| It was decent, Stewards at the Stadium were bang on! Can't fault them. Enjoyed the banter with opposing fans outside the city arms on Saturday. Apart from some Welsh Rugby Union fan sat behind me moaning about virtually everything, talking over loudly so we could hear. What a Tos*er!

| Another way to possibly increase the attendance is to make sure Championship, Amateur and Junior teams aren't playing on the same weekend.

| I had a cracking weekend. An hour away from Cardiff we got a call from the hotel saying they had overbooked & we'd been transfered to the 4 star Vale Resort with full use of all of the facilities, inlcluding gym, pool & sauna. Warrington, Leeds & Crusaders were all staying there, which made it even better.
Had a great night out in Cardiff & spoke to some great people.
Would like it to be a bit closer next time, maybe Manchester?

| Despite suffering from a massive cold I had a great weekend.
Stayed in the Park Inn hotel which was only 10 mins in the taxi or bus so easily accessible. Hotel was spot on and the breakfast was superb.
In cardiff itself I thought the atmosphere was great. The stadium is a much better in both location and standard than up in scotland. Apart from handbags by some saints and wire supporters during the saints game there wasn't any trouble. I had plenty of good natured banter and chats with rival supporters.
Downsides for me were missing the wire v hudds game as it clashed with the derby and some of the lack of away support from the "bigger" teams.
As it was I got to watch 3 games of rugby on Sat followed by the first 2 on the sunday for free as the ticket price was included with our season ticket. Even if it hadn't we'd have still gone for the full weekend at was is a bargain price for an event of it's nature.
It's just a shame that the RL community can't embrace it that little bit more. If they did it would be a truely awesome event

| I had a great time.
7 games with an average of over 8,500 for each game.
It is just sad that our game is hampered by Victor Meldrew clones that have the inability to travel outside of a 15 mile radius of their home.
People have mentioned having it up North at Old Trafford, Anfield or St James' park. I very much doubt those football clubs would let 7 games over two days on their beloved pitch and if it rains with no roof it would make it worse.
Also people say that it was empty and looks terrible. It could be played at a sold out venue but this would not change the fact the vast majority of fans only watch their matches alone and don't hang about for any of the others. Would Old Trafford not look bad with less than 20,000 in for most games by the time the tickets have been split 14 ways?
I prefer to look at the positives. 14 sets of fans mixing in Cardiff over one weekend and most having a good time. The one move I would make is moving it back to the bank holiday weekend. As far as I can see there is nothing wrong with the concept but the fans that can come and choose to stay at home because it isn't down the road need to look at themselves. A supporter supports. Choosing to stay away means you're doing as much as any football or rugby union fan in this situation, absolutely nothing.
Just a thought for those that want to move the weekend to a ground with no roof. If it rained as it did Sunday, but at Murrayfield or anywhere else without a roof, Rob Burrow would have been waist deep in the brown stuff come the second half of Leeds v. Bulls. Millennium Stadium is the only decent option as far as I can see and with our weather the only one where the pitch will be guaranteed to hold up.

If anything I'd say it'd be worse. So close to home people would be even more likely to just disappear after their game, or only turn up ready for their team to kick off.
I went for the first time this year, thoroughly enjoyed it and will make sure I take more newcomers along with me next time.

Exactly.
People would not be willing to stay in a strange pub or restaurant or stay around the ground as it would be a short train or taxi ride and they could be back in their local or nearer to home.
Those that go generally enjoy it. It's your sat at home grumblers that spoil it. Moaning that there are empty seats when all they have to do is realise those seats are empty because of them.
The event does not have to be expensive. Coach down and back in a day with very reasonable tickets and take your own food/drink would see it affordable for lots of people.

| I didn't attend cos I'm skint I live just outside cardiff and my gripe Is lack Of Marketing. Ok I'm sure they push it to the rl crowd but surely the point of Magic in Cardiff is too entice locals and those from the SW to watch live rugby so how come I saw nothing on local tv. Nothing in local rag and zero billboards. The only advertising I saw were lampost flags (small ones) on the road to the bay.
I spoke on Friday to a guy at the ice rink in Cardiff who had no idea magic was on!

| Loved it, loved it LOVED IT!!
Had a really great time and many laughs with other fans. Stayed in Caerphilly and found a brilliant indian restaurant.
Shame it was so cold inside the stadium on Saturday, it seemed to be warmer on Sunday?
Loved how easy it is to park and ride even when I went the wrong way on Sunday and went round 'Torchwood'.
Hope its in Wales again next year but slightly warmer.....

Were you there? If not shut yer gob. I live in cardiff so travel and accommodation was not an issue. Work committments meant i could only attend sunday. I thought the organisational side was spot on, the stadium is as great as ever (i always reccomend the 2nd tier for the best view of the games), food and drink prices were not a complete rip off, the fans were the usual friendly boisterous peeps, enjoyed it and will definitely be back next year.

| Wednesdays is cutting it fine It should have been pushed right after Xmas! What good is it 3 days before people would have plans you cant say oh this weekend there is rugby all weekend, and expect a massive uptake. People need time to plan and arrange things. Bands at the millenium or cia have posters and stuff
Up months in advance. Also having it In the middle of 6 nations might have stopped some people going who were interested in checking it out. I.e the whole I'm going to watch Wales on the tv or the mrs says we have to have a family day as I went to the home game last week issue.

They did. The "RL Community" consists of about 30,000 hardcore supporters who are happy to travel long distances to watch as much rugby as they can + 200-300,000 fans of varying degrees of enthusiasm and commitment. The event was aimed at the hardcore fans as a live event and the rest as a televised event.
