Agreed that didn't help your cause! But Shenton was going to be nowhere near that kick. It was straight to Barba. If Morgan doesn't touch him then all Saints have to do is run from dummy half for 20 seconds and they're in the final.

It was more than Morgan, Percival kicks even one more conversion and Saints are home and dry, it's a team effort, multiple minor mistakes add up to one big one elsewhere.

Matty Smith must pinch himself every day wondering how he's managed to go so far in the game, he is terrible. Percival will be practicing his goal kicking in the off season, the lad bottled it big style there.

Does Matty Smith not kick goals quite comfortably? Strange the duties wasn't changed during the game when you have a second good kicker.

Why hasn't Smith been kicking? Percival was clearly misfiring so why not change things up? Smith has kicked under pressure before so unless he's carrying a knock that isn't allowing him to kick it doesn't make sense.

Yup, but it happens, Tony Smith has complained about this many times in thr past, all sorts of obstruction of of onrushing defenders is weirdly allowed and ignored during drop goal attempts.

Well done Cas...almost choked it away but showed the biggest bottle at the end and obviously are more than worthy of gracing the final.

Really enjoyed the game. If only more SL games could be like that throughout the year.

If SL was close to that level every week there'd be little to worry about the future of the game.

If SL was like that every week the players would be burnt out after several weeks with the schedule SL has.

I recorded and replayed it....2 players taken out, but as other have said, it seems the laws regarding obstruction and off side don't count when it comes to field goals...strange the ref picked up the obstructed runner for the Cas penalty though....still, Cas have been the best side all year.

There is without a doubt a standard closer to tonight that is achievable, as has been seen in some other years.

It seems the drop kick gets the same protection as the receiver on a high ball...blockers aren't allowed by the rules of the game but 9/10 the refs let them do it.
