| Quote ="Clearwing"Re handling errors, I'd need to see how successful Cudjoe was at coping with some of the rubbish passing that Watkins has had to deal with this year before reaching any conclusion.'"
not been getting much from brough who has laid on 30 try assists, mainly down the opposite side to cudjoe.
this has turned into a cudjoe v watkins thread!
how about both in the England starting 13 for the world cup... best way to go i think.
Reed is the danger to this, but with cudjoe playing all the autumn internationals and showing up well i feel he should be ahead of reed, how has reed gone down under this year?

| Both Cudjoe and Watkins appear to be very talented but as a neutral think they both need to get involved much more from the games I have seen but I think Watkins has more potential to be a game-breaker than Cudjoe and I think he needs a long stretch of games without injury before you see his full potential.
Both probably deserving of an England spot ATM but good to have competition. As for Reed, he's decent (and not half as bad as some have said) but he is hardly going to have any Aussies/Kiwis quaking in their boots and lining up against him. He's pretty solid all round though.

| as an opposition fan, i'm scared when we're lining up against watkins, as he's dangerous and cause us problems.
Cudjoe, i'm not, he's not a strike player at all imo, fulfills a role, very well, but he's not someone you're going to double up on, or use as a spot player in attack.

| Also in regards Watkins v Cudjoe stats... This season Codjoe has been playing in a team going all out to win every game.... Whereas Watkins has been playing in a side sauntering through their league games.
Be interesting to see how both fair in the playoffs.

| The common opinion of Atkins seems to be that he isnt 'brilliant'.... he has spent alot of this season injured. But if we compare his stats lasts season to Cudjoes this season the contrast is a stark one.
I would also swap Atkins for Watkins.... i wouldn't swap him for Cudjoe though. Not a chance.

| Yeah, Huddersfield have been sauntering through the season all year
FWIW I wouldn't swap Atkins for Cudjoe either
Basically Watkins looks flash but his all round game lets him down, especially defence, but he is still at the Leeds favoured attacking side
Atkins benefited from a team in great form all season whose preference was to attack down his side
Cudjoe doesn't catch the eye so much (I guess his MoM performance v Leeds in the cup doesn't count) - probably due to him being on the opposite side to Broughs attack but despite this his stats stack up pretty well

| Quote ="Code13"First off, let me say I am a fan of Watkins, and Moon at Leeds, both are quality centres but I've got to come out and set the marker down
Lets see what the stats say about Cudjoe v Watkins
8 tries v 14
13 try assists v 7
8.1m v 7.8m av gain
29 v 23 offloads
73 v 52 tackle busts
12 v 16 clean breaks
507 tackles v 273
31 misses v 32
17 errors v 23
81 marker tackles v 47
So 10 stats
8/2 to Cudjoe
Cudjoe is better by every measure than Watkins and after watching Cudjoe since he debued for the giants has developed into a very very classy centre'"
These stats are ridiculous. Have you not read that Watkins is criminally under used by a poor Leeds coach. By contrast Cudjoe is the main strike weapon in a good Huddersfield team.
Personally I think Cudjoe is brilliant by the way, just those stats are completely irrelevant.

Giants use cudjoe as a main strike weapon?!
obviously not seen much of huddersfield and the attack this season then
infact i doubt many on here have seen much of cudjoe at all apart from the odd game on sky and england games...doesnt get the same exposure as watkins at leeds who are on more often and sky drool over them.

It will be interesting to see how Inglis and Morris/Jennings handle the British centres.
Cudjoe 190cm 102Kg
Watkins 185cm 90Kg
Morris 182cm 86Kg
Jennings 180cm 94Kg
Inglis 195cm 106Kg

How good is Inglis where he stops a Test Winger 1 yard from the line and strips the ball from him and passes it back to his team mates in his in goal.

He's a good player, but one of the tackles in that video is a massive forearm to the head and another has the ref blowing for a penalty in the background. The repeated shot of the guy flying through the air is him handing off a small scrum half.
Not disputing that he's class, or that he might be too much for our centres, but that video looks like an agent's showreel

It is a fan highlight reel from youtube, that is obvious. It is from a series of "Hardest Hitters"
That is correct but several of the players he smashes backwards in tackles are Forwards.
He is one of the biggest players on the field and although he may have slowed slightly at 26 he is still one of the best Athletes in the game.
He will not be "frightened or fear" Watkins, Cudjoe or Sam Burgess.
Its not in Australian players makeup to worry or "fear" other opposing players, its a challenge to come out on top.
No Aussies feared Sam Tomkins in the last Test series, they set a game plan to deal with him and in the main it nullified him to the point he was looking to pass the ball from the deep.

Yeah he is a massive player, but he isn't that much bigger of heavier than Cudjoe apparently and in case you missed Sundays game Cudjoe was swatting players off all over too

| Cudjoe was class yesterday, but he is most weeks. Maybe because he isn't one of the 'flair' players who gets lots of media coverage he gets overlooked by people at times. Him and Watkins, in my opinion, are the best 2 and both will only get better in time too.

| Quote ="Charlie Sheen"Watkins as a more natural centre than Cudjoe, Cudjoe has improved out of sight since the last time he played centre for England down under, especially defensively (although his performance against Wire in the cup wasn't great). =#FF0000He's still not that great at creating space for his winger, his natural instinct is to run himself, he is improving but Watkins in comparison has more strings to his bow than Cudjoe. Cudjoe is a more solid defender at the moment but I'd say Watkins is a better defender now than Cudjoe was 3 years ago.
Watkins is the most natural centre England has produced in years. His combination, of speed, footwork, ability to carry the ball in both hands and catch and pass the ball at high speed his superb, he's not the finished article but in 3 years if he stays fit he will have surpassed Cudjoe, or any other centr in the country.
Both are the 2 best centres in SL. They should both be lining up fro England in the world cup.'"
Your opinions do not seem to be backed up by the evidence. Cudjoe has really developed that side of his game. As seen in yesterdays game where he consistently held up the centre and drew in the winger ( who was chosen for England this season!) before releasing his winger with one handed flick passes.
Those who have watched the Giants this season have seen Cudjoe regularly getting his winger space.

| Will start by saying this isn't a dig or cheap shot, as I like Cudjoe. Good player who I rate and would like to see playing in the World Cup.
But, does he ever pass the ball properly (by that I mean two handed)? Every time I see him pass he does that one hand flick thing.
Seems to work for the kid so it's not a bad thing, I'm just wondering.
