| As much as a bar steward Hardaker is, to want him to suffer a career ending injury is pretty despicable to be honest.

| I’m genuinely shocked that anyone would be willing to sign him.
Why would anyone trust that he won’t do the same thing, or something equally idiotic, again in the future?
He had so, so many chances at Leeds. He was going to be a changed man when he was booted from the England camp. He was going to be a changed man when he was banned for homophobia. He was going to be a changed man when he was convicted of assault. He was going to be a changed man when he joined Castleford.
I’m pretty sure he will be a changed man again as soon as his ban ends, but anyone who believes him is ridiculously naive.
Only a fool would trust him again.

I’m not sure he’s at the same level of idiocy as Hardaker to be honest, but I guess that’s subjective!
There’s also the argument that a huge environmental change (ie moving from the other side of the world) is more likely to make a difference than moving between two adjacent counties.
Even so, if Barba can keep his nose clean until he returns to the NRL, even if it’s one season, they will have had a good deal. In Hardaker’s case, he can’t stay out of trouble for a season.

| I just hope that Cas show the same vigour and ruthlessness we showed in the Solomona case when Hardaker signs elsewhere.
Ultimately Hardaker’s behaviour was a breach of contract. As his was the repudiatory breach, as his employer Cas were well within their right to sack him but still claim for any financial loss, including replacing the player.
It’s exactly the same as the Adrian Mutu case. He failed a drugs tests (cocaine) and was sacked by Chelsea, who then recovered the cost of his transfer fee (£13m) and also the cost of replacing him (£22m). Mutu appealed to every court possible but failed every time. His breach of contract left him personally liable for all Chelsea’s financial loss, including “the wasted costs of acquiring the Player and the cost of replacing the Player” (quoted directly from the court judgement).
From a purely business point of view, Cas can’t afford to spunk £150k on a player and then simply walk away when said player breaches his contract. We perused Solomona even though he cost us nothing to start with and the case was more complex, so I’m hoping we are gunning for Hardaker.

No because it is neither a UKAD nor RFL judgement......but potentially the independent panel (Sports Resolutions) who judged on the case (ie the appeal against the mandatory ban) between UKAD and Hardaker may well have.

You have to be a made up person. Nobody has the temerity to make up blatant lies about a club, wish a career ending injury of a player and then question someone elses morals...

Why not? Cas did!
His off-field record at Leeds was far worse, yet Cas took him on & paid £150k for the privilege!

Mr Chase tweeted yesterday, "do the line, do the time," which I guess is a barbed comment at the different punishment he received for broadly the same offence.

Absolutely nothing to suggest Warrington are involved at all. Ratchford’s under contract and having the form of his life, and fits perfectly into Price’s attacking structures. Unless we are looking to sign Hardaker as a centre then I think this is just rubbish being spouted. Warrington have been burned in the past with signing liabilities so I doubt they’d give him more than a 1-year contract, and we won’t have he cap space like Wigan will after Tomkins goes.

Perhaps just wishful thinking on my part. One of the posters on the Wigan board swears that he is a bestist bud and keeps us all entertained with "Zack said the other day when I saw him....". Personally I do not think that ZH has a great hankering to play for Wigan but that they might be the only thing avaliable. If that is the case then it is not a perfect match.

Tomkins seems to be in great form at the moment and certainly will never be a liability, so it’d be a shame to see Wigan let him go. I can only imagine Cats must be offering silly money that Wigan won’t match, or maybe even if Tomkins has offered to play for less he doesn’t fit into Wigan’s plans. Wouldn’t like to see Hardaker replace him on the same salary though.

| To be fair, Hardaker and Wigan are a match made in heaven. If you had some bloke with the wrap sheet that Zak has and ask him which club he would be best suited at you would say Wigan. That said, I think its a massive gamble by Wigan. He wont be anywhere near the player he was

I’m not sure you know, there’s a club not a million miles away from us who’ve given players chances after not one but two failed drugs tests, had their own players bet against them, had a club legend (believe there may even be a tribute to such legend outside their ground) fail a drugs test for a performance enhancing substance etc etc.
Looks like that club already have a new fullback lined up to replace this years anyway.

Why wont he? He`s kept himself very fit, granted he has not played in a year but he has a full preseason to get back up to speed, there is no reason why he wont be the same player.
I agree by the way, grubby player, grubby culture at Wigan, will fit right in. Saying that this signing is one that Saints fans can not take the moral high ground on, been that you signed a player that was done for the exact same thing and then ran to the RFL to try and get his ban overturned! Morals and all that.

Think there is a hint of jealousy there as Saints will be playing a centre at Fullback in 2019.
