For people like me who doesn't have a season ticket and have to choose there games wisely because of limited cash I chose not to go to this game. But you can bet I'm off to watch the Wigan one just like I went to Wigan 1st game of season because there the games I would like to spend my hard earned cash on not what was a walkover of London.

Foregone conclusion in terms of the result. Asking fans to pay up for non-season ticket games from the same wage packet as the last one. Full-on day of sport on the TV. Game on the TV.
I'm not surprised by the crowd at all and will not berate anyone who had a look at it and chose to do something else.

If the game had come out of my season ticket I'd have gone, it didn't so I watched it on Sky

Frankly, I'd love to see what crowds any other club got for this fixture, because I bet it would be shockingly low, whereas if the Giants had been hosting any of the other clubs then the attendance would have been doubled at least.

And given Widnes v Saints only got a few hundred more last round this is not a problem unique to Huddersfield

Saints -v- Oldham in the last round got 5,000+

Unfortunately supporters at a number of (mostly Yorkshire) clubs are now weaned on the idea that 50-60 quid is the value of a season ticket and that they should get VIP treatment on the back of this. Ken Davy has been one of the engineers of this and sadly he'll have to reap what he's sown.

The World Cup will be the next example of this. I can't say I look forward to the 30-page thread of apoplexy when (mostly Yorkshire) supporters find out the RFL intend to charge more than the price of a first-class stamp for entry to international matches.

May I start the bidding with, 'they should of done cheap tickets to get the fans in'.

A good side on the pitch, but their lack of presence, attractiveness, personality and fans are an embarrassment to top level RL.

Simply, no-one cares about Huddersfield.

Interesting view that but having been to most of the games this season (including yesterday!!!!!) I can't wait for the team to find out how to play entertaining rugby

I turned the TV on yesterday praying that London would make a game of it. It just didnt happen like expected and i really cant blame Hudds fans for not wanting to turn up to what was essentially a bye in to the semi finals.

I said Hudds are A GOOD SIDE, and the attractiveness comment was about Huddersfield's marketability.

Quite simply, they have none, and are therefore not attractive to outsiders.

Widnes V Saints was 2 rounds ago! And there was a thread slating the crowd. 2,500 for a cup quarter final is shameful.

So fans should only turn up to see games in which the opposition can reasonably be expected to make a fist of it? Sorry, it just doesn't wash. We had 8,327 turn out to watch an injury-ravaged Hull side get tonked by Huddersfield in the last round. The result could have been predicted well in advance of the game, and yet we managed to attract nearly 6000 more fans than Hudds did for a quarter final they were expected to win.

How big of you. You do know the final won't be included in your season ticket, don't you? Perhaps, if Hudds make it there, you should watch that on the telly, as well.

Invariably the teams with the biggest attendances win most trophies. So attendances are a big factor.

i was very impressed with the leigh crowd! Leeds travelled very well too.

around 1000 fans went to catalans last week so prob couldnt afford to back up the cup game which as expected was a walkover

You actually miss your own point...Huddersfield aren't even attractive to people in Huddersfield!!

And the RFL in their wisdom don't want it that way. They don't think clubs should have any incentive to boost attendances. The leaders must be held back to allow the competition to equalize...thus boosting the game across the board...and what a load of dreamers (the polite description) the RFL are. Expect more of the same, a continuing view of Nigel Wood's ar$e as he buries his head in the sand.

The diehards will turn up whatever the fair weather fans just dont. Having it on TV just makes it worse. If it had of been Fax or Leigh playing Hudds it would have been a bigger crowd, why is that? Saying that if it had of been Fax or Leigh playing London we would have faced the prospect of having a Championship team in the semi finals, because lets face it London are complete tosh and its probably the reason nobody gives one bout them.

What does it matter how attractive Huddersfield are to outsiders and I think if there is one think the Giants thrive at it is their marketing.

The fanbase is probably unique in RL with women and children being far more likely to be found in attendance than the say 20-45 year olds that you would find at every other club. A whole generation or more has been lost, probably forever, to the likes of Huddersfield Town, Bradford City/Bulls and Leeds United/Rhinos and it is marketing and branding the club as a family one that has it where it is today and not just 1,000 odd people approaching retirement talking about Fartown days.

Giants would love to be a Cas or such like where the town is bought up if not to support their side in person take a big interest in how the side is doing and perhaps by getting so many youngsters through the gates it is a start of creating it being natural for youngsters in the area to be Giants fans but until that day the club needs to do what it does in getting in sponsorship, season ticket holders, families involved etc etc and if they get looked down on by the "big" clubs supporters so what.

Strange! When London play at home and get a small crowd, it's their fault.

When London play away and there's a small crowd, it's not the fault of the home side, but it's London's fault again.
