Menzies did not go himself for two reasons
1- he didnt have a great grip and he was going down elbow first risked losing the ball.
2- as he was landing on his back with a saints player under him he risked being held up and end game.
IMO outstanding that he thought of this while in the air and with the pressure on of needing a try

last seasons game at Perpignan was a lucky win for Saints - they hung on at the end and were lucky to get the points
previous year it was even steven until Ferriol got himself sent off (quite correctly) and the Catalans capitulated with 12 men,not surprisingly... |

As a Saints fan even though you never like a defeat hats off to Cats your perseverance was awesome .Me an our kid were wrecked that last 2 minutes neither of us sat on a chair .Thats why i love this sport,just fantastic, ya know im not disappointed about Saints in this game my beloved sport WON!!!!

And what is so good about our sport, in my opinion, is that there was a better try disallowed in the Wakey v Bulls game (perfectly good, ruled off for a forward pass that didnt exist)
What made that try though was the timing, just goes to show a 20 point lead isnt a winning margin. No siree.

Absolutely right - we had our very own wide to West, but it was inexplicably chalked off for a forward pass that never happened; the same thing happened in the first half too - not as spectacular, but another perfectly legal pass classified as forward.

Wasn't Cunningham scoring in the corner from a kick (video ref ignored Brent Grose being tackled mid-air) at the HJ more recent than the late drop-goal winner at KR? |

Yep, it's a bizarre swing in refereeing to go from last year where plenty of forward passes went unpenalised, to the start of these season where there have been at least 3 or 4 legitimate passes given as forward.
Ali's pass was awesome though, I miss him already  |
