Quote ="Chris Dalton"Not to everything, just nonsense.'"
If you say so.
Quote ="Chris Dalton"You seemed to quite enjoy making rash judgements on the people who were pointing out the flaws in the crusaders business though. Samuels had history. This was ignored. And the detractors weren't "flatcappers" or "knuckle draggers" or whatever vitriolic nonsense they were referred to, they were right to have reservations.'"
Did I? I'm not sure I did. I may well have argued against some rash statements that didn't have any evidence behind them, but I certainly didn't argue with anyone about Samuels one way or the other.
Quote ="Chris Dalton"I knew you'd pull the bias card. And people like you. I figured you'd concentrate on the Fax fans. Thats why I intervened:
I have no stake in this.
None. My club is in super league next year come what may. I'm neither angry, nor mad. For me, the difference between Halifax and Wakefield is completely minimal. So I'm as unbiased as anyone when it comes to their licenses. Wood was completely terrible on Boots N All and failed to answer any questions regarding why they fell for the Crusaders scam and why they've not put Halifax in.'"
People like me?
Dear oh dear.
You're biased against the RFL in general, and the people who run it in particular. It doesn't matter what they do, you'll always find fault. Every single time. Without fail. That's the bias I was referring to, not any personal investment in Fax failing to get a licence.
As for the idea of you stepping in to save the helpless Fax fans from some imagined onslaught...
The furthest I've gone with being 'anti Fax' is to have a mild pop at some of the more ridiculous and hysterical posts. That's it. Personally I would have been just as happy to see Fax get the last place as Wakey - I'm not emotionally invested in either club.
As for the Woods bit - you've already been told why Fax didn't get in. You simply choose not to believe it.
Quote ="Chris Dalton"I find that to be untrue.'"
Good for you - that's your right. I disagree, and will continue to do so until someone provides some actual evidence.
Quote ="Chris Dalton"Simply repeating that it isn't in the rules any more again doesn't cut it. Why is it not in the rules? Who was it to protect? Why the double standard? Why shouldn't it be taken into account at any point? Of course the super league clubs have voted for it! It's like turkeys voting to close down bernard matthews factory! Like this somehow legitimises this. Funnily enough they didn't ask the championship clubs.'"
I'm honestly not sure where you're going with this. My point is that the reasons behind the removal of the criteria are a separate argument, since the criteria was removed before applications were made and all clubs were aware of it. It's therefore completely irrelevant when considering the reasons behind which teams were awarded a licence this time around.
Quote ="Chris Dalton"But its nigh on impossible to PROVE that you will do better than a Wakefield or a Castleford. Why? Because the interest and money isn't in the Championship. You can put in a compelling argument, but you can't prove it.'"
SL clubs can't prove everything in their applications either.
Quote ="Chris Dalton"icon_lol.gif
The only evidence is coming from rumour mongering. The same people who were dead certs that wakefield were already out and had insider information on it in many cases. So Crusaders don't fold. Who is going from super league? Come on, use your loaf.'"
There is just as much actual evidence for either case. And unlike a lot of folk I hadn't written Wakey off even before Crusaders pulled out. From the outside, and without access to details of the applications, I could see Cas being in at least as much trouble for instance.
Quote ="Chris Dalton"They've been here five minutes. Thats why. Again, last time, this wasn't good enough. They haven't broken any promises because they've been in no position to fulfil any. Doublespeak again!'"
*sigh*.
Quote ="Chris Dalton"Whether I have or I haven't, its still completely irrelevant. You're just mudslinging anyone who is arguing in favour of Fax by dismissing them all as "raged" whether they make a compelling argument or not.'"
No I haven't. The [ionly[/i post where I've even used the word was the one you quoted. If you read the post I was replying to you may be able to work out what I meant. Only the most paranoid would draw the conclusion that I was referring to every single poster who had questioned the exclusion of Fax no matter how reasonable the questioning.
Quote ="Chris Dalton"It's the exact sort of two faced crap which turns people away from the VT.'"
Funny. Myself and a number of others avoid posting on the VT because of the constant arguments that have replaced discussion in most threads. It's nigh impossible to have a reasoned discussion because people spend most of their time just trying to shout each other down. God forbid you should try and walk a middle path because then you just get both sides shouting at you. Pointless.
