| Its the fault of Cas they are the away team the should have brought a change of jersey in case there is a clash of colours, the Giants will have informed the RFL the jersey that they would be wearing for the game they do not have to wear the so called home shirt, like i said its down to the visiting team to bring 2 sets of shirts.

| Has anyone ever been to any other games where things like this have happened?
I swear I have seen a game where one side had to play in shirts that were inside out because they clashed with their opponents, I just cant think for the life of me where and at what level

No but the rules of the RFL do state that the home side should wear their home kit unless there's a clash.
I still believe that if it was sanctioned, there was no need for the RFL to agree to it. Kits fine as claret v white.

| It was an absolute joke tonight. In fact, it was a joke before it even kicked off. The pitch at Huddersfield should have been replaced during the winter, and see if the FA would have minded Huddersfield Town playing somewhere else rather than the rugby club having move. As for the shirts, they should have made both teams stick to the colours they brought with them. It makes a mocker of the game. Next they will be telling us the Scotland scrum half is in the England squad....

That would be the simple and logical solution to any and every problem regarding clashing of kits

The rules are there for all to read; they clearly state:
Quote In general the home team will wear its principle kit and the away team shall be directed to wear the kit which best distinguishes the two teams.'"
In which case, common sense says Giants claret, Cas white. If Giants want to change then it's upto them and the RFL to inform Cas. Whether they did is a different matter but an investigation has been launched.
Cas should have brought 2nd kit but probably didn't expect Hudds to be pitching up in their white kit.

Well it's guess work ATM. As it stands Hudds were supposed to wear home shirt, that's what is on RFL site in match detail.
If Hudds had requested a change fair enough but investigation will prove IF that was the case.

Unlikely that Leeds changing from their principal kit to their alternative away kit would make any difference though would it.
Saints in white, Leeds in blue or pink.
Hudds in claret.......changing to white, to play Cas.....in white. There's the problem.

CAS IN AMBER AND BLACK as they should have been then there would have ben no problem. Anyway do you not have a radio station to be publicising. Chill out, at least when the clips go on youtube of crabtree trampling through your defence everyone will just think it is Halifax.

Cas in amber and black may have slightly clashed with claret and gold (still quite dark), but wouldn't have been that bad.
Huddersfield should have been wearing their home kit though.
And Cas should have brought both kits.
So they both screwed up. Don't go pointing the finger at each other.

Yet again, may I direct you to the Kit Directive issued by the RFL. It works quite simply. Click on the Excel document that shows which kit should be worn by each team for each game. Scroll down to 05/06/11 and you will see clearly that Huddersfield were directed to wear their PRINCIPAL kit and Castleford their ALTERNATIVE kit.
www.therfl.co.uk/referee/kit_directives
Cas turned up with the kit required; Huddersfield didn't. End of.

| Have you read this thread?
If you had you'd see Huddersfield asked to wear their alternate kit and were given permission to by the RFL. it's either the RFL's fault for not telling Cas or Cas's fault for not bringing the right kit. Hence Cas had to wear the Fax kit.
