| After scoring 4 tries in his last appearance I think Tony Clubb can be entitled to expect a start against the Exiles

I don't, considering he's not that good.

| Quote ="The Clan"Having seen J Tomkins play centre a few times, the last being a live view at Wakefield I'm warming to the idea of him being an option in the centres for England.
He even looks to have slimmed down a little and was very athletic and mobile, I have to wonder if he's been told that the centre is where his future at Wigan lays and is also, with our current abundance of back rowers, his best chance of being picked for England'"
I think Joel has all the physical attributes to be an exceptional centre. I think the Exiles game will come too soon for him to play there for England though. He is definitely still learning the position and has been caught out defensively a couple of times since he's been moved there. I'm sure he'll be involved in the squad but as a second rower

I didn’t think so at the beginning of the year I think there is some mileage in Joel Tomkins as a centre for England. There are some very good young outside backs coming through and I would look at those fist but if you want size with some speed then Tomkins is a real option... could be the English equivalent of Shaun Kenny-Dowall

From what I've seen of the two, both look good prospects but Clark is more dangerous going forward

| Quote ="inside_man"How you could have Jamie Foster in above Tom Briscoe is beyond me, and thats ignoring the fact that you've named Hock and Peacock who haven't done a single thing this year.'"
Jamie Foster has been excellent this year for saints, and thats coming from a wigan fan. I was tempted to have briscoe in on the other wing but I feel McGillvary deserves his chance. Foster can goal kick, can score tries, can defend and from what I have seen isn't too bad under the high ball.
Gareth Hock the aussies fear him, his offload is an added weapon alone. He will have nearly 4 months to find his form and fitness. He will be fresh compared to everyone else who have come off the back of a very long season! It's a no brainer if he's fit! Imagine a rampaging fresh gareth hock coming off the bench against the aussies?
Peacock for me has to be one of the first names on the team sheet. His experience and leadership are vital. Plus the fact he will also have nearly 6 months to prove himself!

If Foster didn't kick conversions, I don't think he'd be anything special as an out and out winger, whereas Briscoe definately is IMO.

| I like Foster, he plays the game honestly and invariably takes the chances presented to him, add his goal kicking which is up there with anyone you want to name and you have a player who can make a big contribution to the team.
My issue with Foster is that he's not dangerous in his own right!
If you saw Foster taking the first drive from a tap on his own 20 you couldn't imagine him beating the 1st, 2nd and perhaps even third line of defence then holding off the cover to score the try. Replace Foster with Tom Briscoe and I could see all of that happening and apart from the goal kicking Briscoe does everything else that Foster does but maybe to a higher degree.
Briscoe for me.

He can play in the 24th June home match against Huddersfield.
He's been back in training for nearly a month now I think, so he should be ready to play again when his ban is up.

Agreed - Briscoe is the best running back we have - either bringing the ball back from kicks or from dummy half. Add to that the fact he is a good finisher and a sound defender and he is a quality player
He was caught out in the last tournament under the high ball but we need to remember that he is still young and thrown into the international game very early - he is getting better every season and I think by the time the 2012 World Cup rolls around (if he is still fit) he will be a match winner for England
Guaranteed wing spot for me this year

| 1. Sam Tomkins
2. Tom Briscoe
3. Michael Shenton/Chris Bridge
4. Joel Tomkins
5. Jermaine McGillvary
6. Gareth Widdop
7. Danny Brough
8. James Graham
9. James Roby
10. Adrian Morley
11. Gareth Ellis
12. Sam Burgess
13. Sean O'Loughlin
14. Adrian Morley
15. Ben Westwood
16. Eorl Crabtree
17. Kevin Sinfield
A few tough choices. Danny McGuire and Jamie Peacock have not played enough rugby for me for the mid-season test. Towards the end of the year they'll be in the squad for sure. Kevin Sinfield over Luke Robinson/Shaun Lunt was tough, but his form at the moment is excellent and his ablilty to play 6, 9 and 13 very effectively edges him in front for me. Eorl Crabtree at prop might be the last controversial selection, but the bloke has ALWAYS caused he Aussies problems and I would love to see him given a shot. He offers something different going forward due to his size and can find a neat offload too.
