Lots of managements fail , it doesn't make them inept or crooked , if you are suggesting that any business that doesn't match income with outgoings is a failure then 90 percent of professional sports clubs are also failures , including your much loved Leeds United , they were inept ' big style ' , and yet you have argued it was the fault of relegation in the past

I feel for the fans of this famous club.
It's such a shame that a club such as Wakefield could be on the point of going t1t5 up.
I hope they manage to pull through this and come back stronger than ever.

many fail for many reasons, if the underlying reason is that you cant sell a product that is being sold to thousands of people by someone else in the city down the road, then it is likely that the blame lies with your attempts. It isnt necessarily crooked or inept, but it is a failure. And in this case a certain level of ineptitude.

therefore Wakefield had to spend more than they had, not on infrastructure or capital investment that would benefit them moving forward, but on transient playing staff just to survive. If Wakefield are struggling to sell this product, they are going to struggle to sell an inferior one. There is 330k people who live in Wakefield, thaat is a huge market for them. Some long term planning, a bit of capital investment and a quality marketeer and there is no reason Wakefield cant be one of the biggest clubs in the country. If they didnt have those things, or plans to get them, then it was inept to attempt it.

They may or what about Sheffield instead.

widnes last franchise bid was killed by similar financial instability and they have a better stadium and a rich sugar daddy, wakey have neither

if this happened a few months ago id just have advanced the franchise decisions to apply from this year, with a 4 year license vs 3

They also like profitable, self-sufficient clubs that aren't relying on an owner, such as ourselves.

There's a difference - Probiz are a SPONSOR. They're not likely to be pumping money in every season until the club is self-sufficient. They signed a one-year deal to sponsor our shirts with a view to extending it further after. They don't have to commit to it.

However, if you peel back the proverbial onion that is Cas, the potential of the club is quite significant and that's probably why they want to invest.

They also like non profitable , non self sufficient clubs that do rely on an owner , such as Huddersfield,Quins,Salford,Saints,HKR,Crusaders and possibly Warrington

Maybe if we had had some of the SL SKY money in the first two seasons we were in the competition we might have been better positioned to deliver more on our promises. We are one of the smaller clubs without a really wealthy backer so don't underestimate the loss of two years money compared to everyone else (in fact its a miracle we managed to survive those first 2 years).

Many people when having a dig seem to forget this fact, despite every club coming up since getting a fair share of the pie
