Could say more than that about Tony Smith. Anyone who watched him "coach" the World Cup team cannot be surprised by today.

Probably because whenever they go to the other side there's Tompkins, Shenton and Hall giving them nowhere to go. Briscoe's side has Maguire and Smith there to support him - those are the two players at fault for every Aussie try and are amongst the most experienced players in the England side.

But what makes you think they've targetted that side due to Briscoe? He's pretty solid in defence where as McGuire and Smoth arn't.
