| But not much more than the south terrace i would imagine, how many tickets do Hull get allocated for the Derby? A fair few less than Rovers do for the KC derby i imagine.
With the recent launch of the much criticised (on here at any rate) members scheme an obvious ploy of getting in quick funds, then surely also it would have been commonsense to charge FC supporters the same rate as every other club in the league for the south stand (and it is worth £10.00 maximum), and benefit from a sell out and the associated catering etc income.
Rovers have missed out the chance of maximising their best home revenue for the season through a little silliness. Not good business in the current times, and unless the south stand is improved( or demolished )this could be a precedent for all fans, Rovers could be in the position of never again been able to fill the current 10,000 capacity ground.

| I just don't know how Hull fans have the audacity to bang on about 'Old Faithful -in any kind of weather' and then throw their toys out of their pram now Rovers have knocked their status as the No1 team in Hull.
Its beyond laughable and the desperate excuses on here are embarrassing.
I've stood in the South Stand before and the view is OK, not ideal or perfect but better then Odsal and only slightly worse than Headingly.
EVEN WORSE is they are making a mockery of the self proclaimed No1 SL derby status they insisted it was when we were promoted to SL.
See you all at 6PM... oh no...wait a minute...

| Oh geez, I really didn't want to have to do this.
Im not one to want to cause any friction, any angst, any issues between groups of fans, but sometimes I really do want to.
Look at it from the point of view of a Hull FC fan.
The number one team in Hull, the A Team if you will. We have our success, we have the best stadium in Super League, we are the media darlings in Hull, we're THE team.
Hull FC fans can't help the fact that we are the number one team in Hull. Its just life.
On a Hull FC fans travels they have to go to many places, after all, we support our team unlike the poorer cross town inbred rivals. This traveling support takes us to some nices places, London for instance, but it also takes us to sh*t places, Wakfield for instance.
Then there is the away trip no one likes, and that's over to East Hull, into the wretched stench or decaying humanity.
Its not based on fear. Its not even based on performance on the field. Its like....we live good lives over in West Hull. The air is fresh, the streets are clean. People are friendly, we have running water.
So why would we want to travel back to the stone ages, where meth is king, where the woman have more tats than teeth and where the smell is so bad that.....I can't even describe it to you.
Every city has a bad part of town, but East Hull is something different. Its like an experiment. All of societies filth all in one place. Try and find someone living there who hasn't been to jail. Who hasn't been stabbed. Try and find someone without track marks or who's favorite story isn't about how they have been clean for four whole days.
People from East Hull walk to West Hull and sit in front of supermarkets begging for change. I know this, I've seen it with my own eyes.
They want our money, they want our lifestyle. The of Hull, the great stadium, the media focus.
When was the last time BBC Hull set up cameras in the East of the city?
So this is what a Hull FC fan is faced with. Do they sit in their large homes, gather the family around their large plasma tv's, watch their rich football team head into the dirty side of town and play against the feeder team.....or do you actually head into East Hull and put up with problems like crime, filth drug use, violence and the like.
Hull FC fans live the good life. They don't need Hull KR, unless we see a good player of theirs and then we just hand pick them, make them step up to the big time. Aside from that though, Hull FC fans just don't need the filth that is East Hull ruining their lives.
Thats all this is. A group of well off fans who follow a big club deciding that its not worth slumming it to see Hull FC play the feeder team.

| "In any kind of weather" what a frickin joke!
Sing when your winning, you only sing when your winning!
This is much more of a sad reflection on Hull fans total lack of support and faith in their team than it is on the state of the Sth stand. Happy to be rubbing it in when all was rosy at the KC camp but simply can't handle the fact they now play second fiddle to HKR. Pathetic!

Hull were given the south terrace as it holds more fans than the north stand. They give us the 'away end' at the KC so we give them the same at our place. If we gave them the north stand exclusively instead of the south terrace, they would then complain that they are not given enough tickets. Regarding the view, it is crap, we all know that, but I was stood in ing rain at Headingley last week, and have stood behind the posts at Odsal. Now you can't tell me that this is any better than the south terrace at our place. What most Hull fans seem to forget is that before they were given this shiny new stadium, we had to endure years of standing behind the posts at the Boulevard! Give us time and our ground will start showing signs of improvement.'"
South stand at headingley and terracing at odsal are both much better views than south stand at caravan park.
I doubt the majority of rovers fans have ever stood on their south "terrace" so aren't in a position to comment. I have for the last 2 derbies and you just can't see what's going on

The home team keeps all revenue from home games. Only in cup games is anything given to the away side

Thanks for that.
I can see both sides of the argument, but also that fans of both sides were getting fed up with the 4 games a year, it's now down to 2. Seems strange that so many FC fans are reluctant to turn up.

| Alot of people from both sides on here wont remember this game as it was both pre Super league for both and Pre shiny stadium for them. But i remember having to go watch Rovers beat Hull at boothferry park (Summit to do with the amazing Boulevard not able to stage a game) in a nothing game for which we sold our allocation to watch a game from a view which could only be best described as at pitch level, and by that i mean my eyes were at the same level of the grass.
Man i struggled to climb up onto that field when psycho scored in the last minute.

No, because that isn't the only game we've done it on, and the other game wasn't against Rovers (although I can't think of who it was at this moment in time!). Plus it was spread across the whole stadium, and all proceeds went to charity.
So if you are REALLY trying to compare a £1 increase for everyone in the stadium on a one off time to raise money for charity with increasing just the away fans £7 annually for the same set of fans for a crap view, then you REALLY are desperately clutching onto them straws!
