I would think the biggest reason he didnt get a visa was that he didnt get the number of 1st team games in for last season to be granted a visa for this season. He had early season injury and then the sacking would not have given him the % of matches in NRL to be granted a visa to play in Super League.

Dobson of Hull KR was aware of this rule hence the reason he arrived mid season last year as he did have the % the year before and at the time of signing with Carney holding his position in the first team, new that he would not meet this % unless he signed a more then one year deal for last and future seasons.

Where will Carney go from here, I wouldn't imagine any NRL wanting him with his track record.

5/6 NRL clubs looking to sign him for 2010 inc Manly (to replace Orford) and Wests.

i meant breaking the cap but every one knows most clubs are paying wifes partners stupid money because they are up to the cap so to get the best you pay the best even if it means bending the rules it shouldnt be allowed

If you're so simple that you think you'll just carry on going up the league every year then get ready for a shock, that's not how rugby league works.

Let us all be clear on one thing. Every team has too many overseas players. To chuck dirt at a club for trying to sign Carney because of his past is hypocritical; some of the overseas lads that are currently here are worse but came before the rules were tightened.

These would be the same fans who told us that Broughy wasn't a Scrum Half and was only any use as a hooker. Clearly Brough walking away with the Albert Goldthorpe award suggest otherwise. Much as you all seem to rate Horne even fit (which wasn't the lads fault) I don't think he would have come close to Brough last year.
