| If I'm the USARL, the first thing I'm doing is seeking an injuction to prevent them using "rugby football league" in their name.

The implications are far reaching. What these 3 NFL sell out games do is free up the England union team to play test matches in the north of England without having to worry about servicing the Twickenham debt.

Easy to have "commercial nous" in this situation. You've got a stadium that needs filling and someone who wants a stadium to fill.

It'll say a lot about the RFUs attitude to the north when they announce which England games they'll take there. Is it likely to be prestigious Six Nations matches, or S Africa, New Zealand and Australia; or lower tier games perhaps such as Argentina, Uruguay and Japan etc ?

Wouldn't surprise me if they played a 6 nations game in the north, especially in years when they've 3 home ones. A s. hemisphere giant, equally possible. I think they've an eye on making inroads.

They see us a bunch of northern monkeys that they are ''better than''.
Make inroads?
They can go sod themselves.

| 9 carries for 27 yards, 5 receptions for 20 yards.
On a team that's basically dialling it in and riddled with injuries, he's now basically the second-string running back.

He got dropped early in the season because he wasn't good enough and is only back in the squad because of injuries.
So put some meat on the bones for once rather than just cliches....
1. Why is Americans watching a 30 second RL clip good for the sport?
2. Why is Hayne leaving RL good for the sport? Rugby Union is as big across the globe....thus Sonny Bill leaving RL was good for the sport.
3. Have you ever visited the planet earth?

Its certainly a stretch to describe him as a huge success, but he's certainly being talked about. How good it is for our game I'm not sure, but I guess there are alot of Americans who now know that our game exists which can't be a bad thing.
He did okay last night, didn't tear up any trees but he looked assured. Had plenty of involvement and came up with a few nice plays. Good for his development.

| Quote ="JEAN CAPDOUZE"Jarryd Hayne has won a place in the San Francisco 49ers 53 man roster for 2015-16.
We know
This represents one of the greatest code switches in sporting history.
No it doesn't
It required enormous courage, dedication and talent.
Non it didn't
It also gives great publicity to rugby league, because the words rugby league and NRL are all over the NFL and San Francisco 49ers websites.
No it doesnt
I fear however that NFL agents will soon descend on Australia and New Zealand, and might possibly snare other NRL stars like Roger Tuivasa-Sheck, Jason Taumololo, James Roberts, Anthony Milford, Semi Radradra or Marika Koroibete.
No they won't
They might even look at the Under 20s, and grab superstars in the making, like Sydney Roosters full back Latrell Mitchell.
Don't be ridiculous
In Britain they may chase Zachary Hardaker, Kallum Watkins, Ryan Hall, Thomas Briscoe, George Williams, and Dominic Manfredi, and in France Fouad Yaha.
See above
Regardless, Hayne's achievement in such a short time, with only four preseason games under his belt, has been amazing. It shows the superior athleticism of the top rugby league stars.'"

99% of the plays are planned yes, but that doesn't mean things will always go to plan. Players do need to read the game and think on their feet, and even when they do go to plan they still need to be executed. Its not a playstation game.

| That's not true.
Every play is planned but that plan is to give the QB options.
He doesn't always throw to plan A.

There is usually a primary option, whether that be a running play or a pass, then secondary options, then after that it's about moving off the initial 'set play' and playing by ear, this can result in the QB 'scrambling' or other plays like a shuffle pass or backs turning up downfield on spread offence. those not in the know often mistake the read option as being off the cuff.
Then you get plays like this which are very much rugby league-esque and in the mould of 'wide to West'

Why don't they pass the ball more in American Football? Would make it far more watchable if they did.

That's a fair comment and each to their own. I just find an average of 11 minutes of action across 3 hours particularly dull.

you change how you do things to gain an advantage, rules/how the accepted way to play in the NFL stifle open play. It's not that you couldn't pass the ball 'laterally' more often, it's that because you can block a potential recipient it's deemed very high risk. You could use it in a similar way to a short kick off early in a game of rugby league when it's least expected (as in not when you're behind) or say a kick from the scrum. Given the risk value unless it's a last play of the game then it just won't happen but that's why sports like rugby league are interesting because they can change and develop. Gridiron is massively regimented with rules that make even less logical sense than ours

As I said, each to their own. Regardless of what anyone thinks to the actual action of either game, for entertainment value they don't compare with one having 11 mins over 3 hours and the other 50+ Over 1.5 hours.
