| At the last count he has 10 players injured, most of them playmakers, probaby better to judge him when he has a full squad

| Wakefield played well, ruthlessly at times.
Catalans were poor but some praise for Wakefield?
Putting 50 past any team deserves some praise, yes?

| Catalans came with a big physical side and looked massive in the warm up. Thought we might get a battering in the forwards. Wakefield played to this and kept turning them with deep kicks. Some of their big units were blowing out of their back sides after 20 minutes.

That'd be the pro-franchising expansionist mindset still in operation.
To be expected given the [url=http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/the-revolution-starts-here-1614896.htmlsame old propaganda the game has been subjected to since 1995[/url.

nice insular pit village mentality there.
Dragons will be fine provided Frayssinous is given his marching orders. which will happen sooner rather than later.

You don’t have to deride me twice .
So, is it preferential to have a French team in the comp who are underperforming as opposed to a heartland team who could actually be quite good?
If I were the CEO of an English team, I know which I’d prefer. The cost of getting the team to France coupled with the lack of away support, hmmm.
Oh, I forgot, their initial inclusion was heralded as a stepping stone to the French providing a stern opposition to our national side, that’s going well – not.

| Losing Bradford with their thousands would be a bit of a backwards step, losing the French team as well would be a real hit on the crowds, but hey that's sport. They have the money and the players, so it's down to the staff to get them winning.

Quite.
The French have gone backwards on the international stage since having a team in Super League.
But then again, so has England (and GB) relative to Australia and New Zealand.
So much for the dream - two decades of urinating Sky money down the toilet and we are now left with a handful of competitive clubs, most clubs struggling financially and next to no star players in the game whatsoever. They are either playing in the NRL or Union.

| Bit harsh, it doesn't matter who was coach, that Catalan team did not have a prayer today. Their only strong suit was a big pack - and that got hammered around the park all afternoon.
Webb is still a liability, don't know how he's still getting a gig!

| Looked a very lonely, dejected man walking back to his position after half time. I think he's a goner anyway, possibly to be replaced by the man who pretty much delivered the final blow this afternoon.

| I would suggest that it is the PLAYERS who are at fault. They are the ones paid to a job and they don't seem to want to do it. Some must be taking money under false pretences.
In any business people who do not do the job they being paid to do are aiming for disciplinary action and eventual dismissal.
RL is a business. Time it was run like one.

| The 2 clubs that are under performing at the moment, compared to their own expectations, are Catalan (who were absolutely dire today) and KR, plus Salford and maybe even Wigan.
Although there is a very long way to go in the season, the doomsday scenario of London and Catalan finishing bottom 2, looks a real possibility and both of these clubs will be hoping that Bradford stay in the mire.
Salford need to improve, as do Wigan.
The return of relegation has certainly added some spice to the competition.

You are right that the players aren't performing to their ability. But you can't sack half your squad in the middle of the season. All they can do is get a new coach in and hope he inspires the players to do a bit better. Your reference to people being dismissed for not doing their job doesn't really hold water either. They are doing their job, just not to the best of their ability. If you went to work and did what you needed to do but only put in 75% effort would you expect to be fired? Pretty harsh employer if so. Besides I don't know what you do for a living but I know that in my job I don't have another guy who's job is to make my job as hard as he can make it.
It's one of the unfortunate truths in all sports, the coach will ultimately take the rap for an underperforming team, whether it is their fault or not.

Catalans squad is too good to go down. A new coach and some players back, and they'll be ok. top 8 might be disappearing though

Catalans finished bottom in 2010 with a squad which was allegedly too good. However, finishing bottom in 2010 didn't matter to them because they knew that being utterly crap that year would be rewarded with another license to continue.
I don't expect Catalans to finish in a relegation place in 2014 because they will be motivated by the threat of relegation which renders their SL fixtures as meaningful.

| Laurent Frayssinous and Craig Sandercock are favourites to get the sack for me I would also put Noble in the mix too if Salford get a bad run of results.

Gary Hetherington says the same thing every season at Leeds.
Whether such proclamations improve season ticket sales is anyone's guess. Can't harm them I suppose.
Apart from being a marketing stunt, such proclamations are not to be taken too seriously by anyone.
