| Why don't you talk about some of the finer points of the game, as opposed to stuff, as I said before, everyone knew at 10 years old. You might as well be playing U11s if the best you can come up with is '3 settler tackles'.
Why not discuss how different teams use these 3 tackles to open up different channels in defence; Saints do a remarkable job of doing this in a 10-15 metre channel, crossing the ptb line and cutting a runner inside at the markers or the first outside runner who are force defenders to make 2 or 3 tackles running every time. Warrington on the other hand favour hitting defenders 2/3 moving across a large portion of the middle.
If you're being dominated in defence the Saints tactics can soon see you eat up your tackles whereas Warrington I feel hit outside runners too early very often however Smith seems to like moving the defence around. On the flip side, Saints for years have success with their strategy with KC, people like Roby, creating a broken field and feeding a great broken field runner like Pryce.
How about the NRL?

You didn't know about the importance of the scrum as a basis for moves at 10 years old or any other age for that matter...
Roy Masters seems to have a clue though.

| Whereas any attempt to make the conversation remotely tactical is ignored. I said in SL you see very few moves from a scrum, more a backrower playing at first receiver choosing to have a barge. Happens every game every week. I suggest you try watching more.
Dally might as well carry on talking about his u10s tactics

You certainly don't see many week to week in the UK.
I counted precisely 0 in the game I watched yesterday between Warrington and Catalans, and believe me there were a lot of scrums

I wasn't posting in your direction. It was just a coincidence we happened to post at about the same time.
Don't try and be revisionist, btw.
You advocated removing scrums as a waste of time. Clearly, any rugby league sides not using them are neglecting an obvious area ripe for manipulation.
I don't care whether two sides here, there or anywhere used it or not; other than to note the trend in the NRL which my comments pre-date.

| If something needs to change it should change. Rugby League was built on those principles. I just think the 10m rule at scrums would be better; that or, as I originally suggested remove the scrum in favour of a tap and save 30 seconds a pop.
Lastly the clock should be stopped between a try being and the kickoff being taken, that wastes too much time too.
Dally, your posting on this thread about 'tactics' clearly highlights you were incapable of following the discussion up. It's alright, some people just aren't that bright, you do seem an enthusiastic guy.
As for the Welsh backline, the retired 36 year old welshman is certainly going alright after 4 games isn't he in professional Rugby League If you can't recognise great athletes then there's no hope for you in regards to understanding 'tactics'.

| Quote me where I said the Welsh union backline was the best in the world? Oh wait, you cant. I said they'd walk into most International League sides of which they would.
Who said Thomas can't tackle properly? He hasn't even played near ten games so considering he's on 2 tries already I fail to see how it's 1 in 5
That's off topic anyway

| But Thomas is almost 36.
I've no doubt the current crop could make it as NRL players if you gave them 12 months to adjust, hell Mark Flanagan is playing NRL. Good prospect that he was he was no wonder boy. The NRL isn't a playground of supermen

| Siding with guttertroll isn't a good look for someone claiming not to be a troll, dickless...
Not sure what the other Dud 14 attendances have to do with a club said troller said would go under.
24,000 rabid fans. No points. I think the Dud teams got points if they won???
As for the rah rah, you two can enjoy. They have had one decent turnout for a weekend this year in Oz. And 15 people watching on Foxtel.
BTW, scrum moves remain useful, dickless...

| I haven't read the whole thread, but a huge difference between the NRL and SL is that in the NRL on most completed sets of 6 you'll see some plan as to what should happen on each tackle, with playmakers getting ready for the next play or more) whilst the current play is still going on.
For some reason when I watch SL at least half the sets seem almost completely unplanned apart from the first couple of drives by a forward. That's not say that some sets aren't well thought out, but even the best sides seem to go through spells where they seem clueless as to what they are trying to achieve with the ball, ending in an aimless kick.
